Because we're a fukking Speck of cosmic dust on an intergalatic beach...
:mindblown:

There's No proof of life doesnt mean there isnt life on the other side... But we dont have the capabilities to reach that far yet...
Exactly. Humans are so fukking arrogant and self centered that they think that they are the center of this vast universe. The fact that we havent found proof of other life says nothing about even coming close to confirming there isnt, but more so that we are still far too limited to find out by our means.

Of course if there is alien life in the universe, you're a naive c*nt if you think otherwise, it's only a matter of time before we have proof.

The real question is, is there intelligent life out there? Or did there used to be but it has now been wiped out? Or maybe it'll be millions of years before another intelligent civilization appears?

Think of it this way, the Universe is 14 billion years old (estimation), and the human race is only 10000 years old, and most likely won't see another 10000. :manny:

Maybe there are lots of intelligent life but they die out quickly :yeshrug:

The Sun is a tiny star, and The Milky Way is a tiny Galaxy. The largest galaxy in the observable universe is IC1101. I've been trying to find somewhere with skies dark enough to see the galactic center, but dark skies are hard to find in Maryland.
You'd have to maybe hit up Montana. Or Northern Canada. Sky Pollution is crazy in the states. A light source can't even be on the horizon. Clear pictures of the Milky Way you see are usually done with long shutter photography though.

Wow. Are there any planets near this big sun? If so, there's no way they can exist too close to this sun?
Regardless of the size and luminosity of a star, it the surrounding planets are far enough away from it they will be fine. If they are in the goldilocks zone they may even harbor life, simple or otherwise.

We can't prove we aren't alone and we can't prove we are so its a moot point. We can keep looking but unless we find some way to travel massive distances in a short amount of time then there is no point in worrying about it.

Just based on Einsteins theory, light is the absolute maximum we can travel and even then its not nearly enough and would take millions of years to get anywhere.
Technically light can't escape a black hole. It's possible we could travel through black holes faster than light.
