The lack of a serious passion behind commentary is HURTING the business.

Graves and Saxton were around developmental for so long thought that they basically have a relationship or knowledge of most of the current roster's journey. They're still failed but at least they can give that insight I guess.

What insight can they give on a big title match or in a big match main event. Or what is it like facing the Big Show or Jeff Hardy just little nuances like that go along way. Like when you use to have Manny Stewart doing commentary on HBO (legendary coach of champions) or Roy Jones/Paulie/Lennox Lewis/Andre Ward doing commentary from a champions/world elite boxers perspective. Or when Bas Rutten use to do the early MMA commentary.

Yea but the GOAT never wrestled either, and if I hadn't watched a documentary on him I never would have known Heenan ever wrestled. All you need to be a good commentator is a great voice and to be excited about what you are watching, that's it.. WWE takes that excitement out and tries to force useless ESPN stats down your throat, they try to force feed you shyt you don't care about while you are watching something else in the ring.. They are trying to always sell you on whats coming up in the future and don't spend enough time talking about whats currently happening in the ring..

They figure if you are excited about upcoming events and shows then they can secure your money in the future. They are not trying to offer great commentary, they are trying to sell you everything they are doing..

The problem is they are selling all this shyt to a majority audience that are already all in, so it comes off as annoying to us, Vince still thinks they have a casual fanbase and people are going to flip by raw at night and be like aww man they are having a womens ppv let me get invested for the next few months..

And even if that happens after watching the weekly product I'm sure most people are turned off and lose interest by the time the ppv comes around.

I already stated that Heenan, everyone knew he managed champions and was always trying to beat Hogan and then Warrior. He added that credibility of a managers/coach standpoint, hence while RR92 is the goat commentary.

Yeah, I dunno about this... WWF/E's best teams always consisted of a face/heel dynamic on the commentary. If anything, I'm surprised they don't play that up MORE now. Sure, Graves will take the heel stance but he never 100% heels out, and Cole usually doesn't have any stance at all, so there's no real dynamic there. It'd be extra dry with two guys on commentary just agreeing about everything. I wish they'd just let Graves heel out and disagree about everything, he's about the only one they've got who could be in that role, everyone else is plain AF.

Vince/Ventura
Monsoon/Heenan
JR/Lawler
even Cole/JBL when JBL first started commentating in '06.

These teams always sold those matches. Matter fact, Lawler didn't get bad until he was made to just agree with everyone and become a straight-up babyface announcer, shilling and parroting whomever he was calling the matches with.

Ok..... I think if they can be at worst like KKelly and Romero in NJPW.

They had chemistry and got along.

I’m just tired of the thing Vince loves in the E with guys roasting each other and more concerned with putting over themselves or shytting on the man next to them and making jokes then calling matches

I haven’t watched RAW last night or really pay attention the last time Renee was on there..... so I don’t know if Graves goes out his way to shyt on her like he did every black commentator...... but that shyt gets old and it’s not even funny.

It’s distracting and annoying.

Where is this generation's Heenan?, Ventura? Lawler? Ross? Gordon Sole? I mean this shyt overall just makes the product dull.

This ^^^ era of wrestling commentary is over with we're never going to get type of quality again. I admit I do like Corey Graves as heel commentator. I haven't heard much of Renee Young in the booth b/c I don't watch RAW but her along w/Charley Curuso doing the backstage interview segments are fine to me. If I have any issue with commentators in WWE it's Michael Cole who really has done the same tired shyt for over 20+ yrs. He really needs to be phased out.

Creative in WWE is a mess, at least on RAW it is.

Ah I get you now, you want a guy with at least a couple title reigns under their belt. I couldn't tell you why those guys aren't announcers, I'd guess that the Legends contract is sufficient money for them and Vince doesn't want to deal with diva attitudes.

The closest we've gotten to those types is Booker or JBL in the past few years. Who do you think has been in big title situations who Vince could bring in?

I don't think anyone wants to work with Vince on the headset. But my pick would be

Jericho, but he wants to continue to wrestle.

Also gives him another reason to stay away from those loved ones.

WWE Commentary sucks because they have to wear an Earpiece that feeds into Vince's directions; they can't be themselves or create their own persona.

Watch the WWE Japan special and you get a Michael Cole that was awesome because Vince didn't get involved.
