The lack of a serious passion behind commentary is HURTING the business.

none of them have credibility, if anything you want to disagree with everything they say. :mjlol: how are you gonna sell shyt to people using salesmen people hate :what:

This

The color commentators are all failed wrestlers/personalities, none of them have an ounce of legitimacy.

If we go back from Ventura (former Marine and title challenger) Heenan (Manager of champions) Piper, Savage, Perfect, Lawler, Hayes/Hendrix, Foley all have credentials of being in main events and successful within the squared circle whether it was WWF or not. Heyman worked because he was a big mouth manager.

Even the early JBL days he bought something to the table, as a former World Champ.

Yeah I know they're being micromanage, to the tenth degree but I cannot take the views of Graves, Saxton, Coach serious because they've never done shyt in the ring.

I'm probably oversimplifying it but they just need GOOD commentators. To a certain extent, it doesn't matter whether the commentators are face or heel YET, because anything is better than what they have now.

Heenan
JR
Styles
Heyman
Ventura
Monsoon
Pre-2003 King
WCW Shiavonne
WCW Tennay
Dusty Rhodes
Bischoff
Gertner

Are all decent to good to great to once in a lifetime level talents. They each rested on a different side of the heel and face fence but added something to the product in a very different way. You can never listen to JR's GOAT level Austin calls and get them confused with Heenan's GOAT RR 92 performance.

You can however listen to Cole talk to Saxton and Graves and mistake it for one long dialog and that's the ultimate problem with this sterile/stale product.

I'm kind of disappointed that no one's mentioned William Regal in the list of good recent commentators. He's fantastic whenever he's in the booth, and the perfect balance of the legitimate, real sports style color commentary and wrestling style heelishness people are arguing over in this thread.

Of course, he's SO far away from what Vince wants in a commentator that he'll never get a chance on the main roster (and they've replaced him with an inferior version of himself in Nigel McGuinness).

But with one guy being morally flexible, got to sell the heels breh. That will always be an important part of the show. Cant have a taping sound like an espn commentary team
Only if your team focuses solely on the in ring action kinda like Cole and Tazz did. If you do that though, you have to present it as a legit sport and no a cartoonish manner filled with fukkery or cheesiness.

He only did NXT, right? I don't remember him doing it on the Main roster, if he did remind me, outside of the was feud he had going on.
