Not expecting much from this. Bench was in desperate need of someone that can make stuff happen. Russ does that, but most of it isn’t good.

I am hopeful about him as a personality on the team. He’s a dog and the nuggets have needed another one since Bruce left. He might even be able to push Jokic and Murray into not coasting so much in the regular season.

if he can be that hustle guy who grabs rebounds and gets lobs from that Aaron Gordon dunker spot while being a pest defensively… with some fast break transition points here n there… at 20 mpg, that’s fair expectations.

But as a back up point who can barely dribble or shoot or make smart passes… and when the going gets tough pulls shenanigans that backfire like what we saw against Luka… keep expectations low.

I still can’t believe Morey traded CP3 for Russ. That was the downfall for the Rockets in 2019-2020.

Although Russ still a great player back then wasn’t exactly a great fit.

Honestly it was an overreaction but the entire fan base thought CP3 was cooked and he was based on 2019

However in hindsight he reverted back to 2018 CP3 in 2020 (with OKC) and if we’d have just kept him… we still have Capella and we likely go 7 games vs LAL in the bubble WCFs at minimum, and likely face off vs the Bucks in the 2021 Finals.

It's amazing to me how the nuggets owner cheapef out on a winning championship team roster. Kcp swapped out for Westbrook. Losing Bruce brown etc.

Kinda makes you realize that championships are largely determined by willingness of owner to spend
This kinda ruins it for me honestly.
It would be interesting to run a correlation on champion team relative spending over years to indicate if that hypothesis is true. Do the teams in the top 10% of spending( top 3 most expensive teams) usually win a championship ???????

If anyone has come across this research it would be interesting to see

Well, I think Westbrook to the Nuggets was a great trade for both of them.

The Nuggets lost a lot in free agency with KCP and Jackson leaving so Russ gives them a high-quality guard off the bench. I think Westbrook can be a better playmaker than Reggie and he'll have nights where he'll put up some good 6th man numbers.

For Russ, this will be his legitimate chance to compete for a championship since we all know Denver will be right back in the mix.

They had no choice but to lose Bruce brown. Unless they gutted the team to get under the cap, they could only offer like 125% of the dirt cheap contract they got him on, because if the CBA.

Letting KCP walk was a mistake though. Hard to say if it was ownership not being willing to spend though. The GM believes that he can continue to find guys in the late first/second round and have a pipeline, so they don’t actually have to pay anyone besides the top 4 and stay out of the second apron. I don’t think it’s viable, and it’s gonna cost him his job if the young guys don’t pan out.

Obviously I can because what you said was dumb af :mjlol:

Why tf would Jokic publicly state that he wants a nikka if he felt like he couldn’t help them win games?

Did I say he couldn't help them win? Show me the post that says that

Being a moron doesn't mean you can't help a team win games you clown
