Yeah, Blatt quickly realized his mistake. After game 2, Delly spent a majority of his time on Curry.

I mean, if you actually watched the video u posted Shumpert and JR were on Klay most of that game. Delly had a couple of possessions guarding him which could have been by design by GS to get a switch. These videos you cant really see the play develop but more often than not Delly was glued to Curry.

You're picking and choosing specific instances man. You gotta look at the overall picture. You can't say hes overrated because of this "1 minute in this game" or "this handful of times he guarded Klay Thompson 1 game".

He's an effective defender for us over the first 8 games and last season for multiple possessions. He is able to recover off of hard screens, he knows when to go under or over the screens, he knows where to funnel the ball, etc. He makes mistakes like everyone but so far this season he's been good.

Who has he guarded this season?

He's basically nitpicking, no one said Delly was a shutdown defender but he puts great effort on the defense end and defense is mostly effort.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
GQ interviewed Kyrie

Blatt has definitely gotten the respect from his team.

-----------------
How is the knee feeling? Are you coming along?
Definitely. It's going great. Rehab's going great. I'm right where I need to be in terms of getting ready, but there's also obviously no rush for me.

After your first few years in the league playing for a team that didn't get much national attention, how was the adjustment to being at the center of the NBA world?
It was such a great learning experience. And I say great with so much ambivalence, because when you're actually going through it, it absolutely sucks. It's terrible. It's very lonely when you're taking a lot of that scrutiny. But in the grand scheme of things, I'll put myself in that position every single time. Because the light at the end of the tunnel—playing with great players, winning a lot of games, hopefully winning championships—is well worth the trouble of going through scrutiny and dealing with all that extra stuff that no one really wants to deal with. Plus without the criticism, I wouldn't be me.

Do you think that David Blatt got an unfair rap from the media in his first year?
The thing I always preach is that whatever the storyline is, whatever the thing that's going on, as long as we're okay in the locker room, and we're going out there together as a team, everything's fine with us. There are going to be stories regardless, but obviously it was unfair for David Blatt. For me, what really stuck out, and some people probably won't give him credit for this, but he's the true embodiment of a player's coach. And he played. He may not have played in the NBA or at the highest level, but he understands players and he understands how a team should be run. When you have great players such as Bron and K Love, you allow the players to grow in their own space, and you allow the team to form, and then you coach for the betterment of the team. He didn't just come in and try to force an offense, or force a defense, or force himself on us. We all grew on each other. I feel like that's the best way to build relationships. You can't force any great relationship. You don't just come out and become friends with someone you don't know. It takes games, and days, and sometimes a year, to gain trust. That's all it was. Coach Blatt is a great coach and a great person, and I wouldn't want anyone different. Especially after the playoff run we went on last year, what we accomplished throughout the season.

Everything that was coming from people on the outside looking in . . . That's exactly what it was: the outside looking in. I mean, at one point last year everyone was saying, "Will they even make the playoffs?" I mean, come on. We have K Love and Bron on our team. I'm pretty sure we're going to make the playoffs.

Is it exciting to be going into this season with a year under your belts and having a feel for how far this team can go?
Absolutely. I think the best thing for us was going through that whole year together and bringing back a core so that we all know what to expect from each other. Especially with what we as a city and a team had gone through for a few years, now to be bringing most of us back? There's nothing but excitement. And on top of that, doing what we did last year with all the limitations and all the guys that were hurt for us and we still somehow made it to the Finals? Yeah, we're really excited this year.
