They can mix & match and play Delly at the 1 or 2 depending on who he has to guard. The problem with him last year is he had to play heavy minutes with Kyrie & Shump banged up so he ended up burning out. He's useful when you can throw him out there for 5 or 6 minute stretches to chase around screens and spot up. Plus with how inconsistent JR is its nice to have Delly hanging around.

Delly doesn't have the length to defend against shooting guards. He was utterly helpless against Thompson in the finals.

It wasn't even a full game since Delly was mostly on Curry that game holding him to 5-21 shooting

Well, his initial statement was "Penetrating PGs will have him for breakfast"

Then to prove his point he posts a video of a shooting SG w/3 inches on him :heh:
So he's either dumb or a :troll:

so delly is an overrated defender based on 1 game?:ohhh:

good analysis :jbhmm:

My analysis ain't based only on one game. Take last night for instance, Delly was the sole reason Utah kept making a comeback with a min to go. His defense is as basic as they come.

You're picking and choosing specific instances man. You gotta look at the overall picture. You can't say hes overrated because of this "1 minute in this game" or "this handful of times he guarded Klay Thompson 1 game".

He's an effective defender for us over the first 8 games and last season for multiple possessions. He is able to recover off of hard screens, he knows when to go under or over the screens, he knows where to funnel the ball, etc. He makes mistakes like everyone but so far this season he's been good.
