I'm not American and I'm sincerely trying to gain knowledge. Can someone break down why whether or not she's African American is important?
Because the entire selling point of her is her race...They wanted a "black woman" as VP and think they're slick picking someone 25% black with a white family (husband and kids)

They're also counting on her gender and race covering for her appalling record...Everyone who attempts to attack her record will be labeled a misogynist or a racist to deflect from the subject of her record...

tbh the large majority of black people won't care if she has black american parents. she is relatable to us because she went to an hbcu and pledged a black sorority.

you can argue about her politics, but this idea of what determines if a person is "black enough" is stupid. and white people definitely have no say in that discussion at all. republican conservatives trying to play this reverse mind trick on some "she's not really one of yall" will backfire and cement their racist approach to define blackness.

come at her about her politics but making this about whether she is black enough is idiotic and very shallow. this is the same thing they did back in the day to create division and sow distrust between house and field slaves. good thing is most black people don't fall for that bullshyt anymore.

:scust:No it isn't. Fundamentally, the same reason there's a "black demarcation line" is the same reason you have borders on a country or the concept of citizenship. Or membership at an organization. Or locks on your door for fukks sake.

Yet you out here sounding like a white supremacist with your anti-black immigrant rhetoric

I didn't say anything inherently anti immigrant at all. I said ADOS is a distinct ethnic group just like the distinct African and Caribbean ethnic groups that exist. If you take that as anti-immigrant I don't know what to tell you :manny:

How are black people losing their dignity by making distinctions in their own ethnic heritage. You realize people have in doing this all over the world throughout history what makes it so bad now?

Breh. Trump is a white American and is neither a descendant of Plymouth Rock or Jamestown.

No white people ever anywhere have made a gripe about Trump's lack of ethnic white colonial Americaness or have said they were not voting for him because he wasn't a descendant of someone that sat in the House of Burgesses.

Black people are not losing their dignity. The ADOS party would be losing its dignity if they decide to dig in their heals just because people are trying to get on code. Maintaining your ego means you lie with the devil at this point.

Nobody is telling ADOS to give up on their strategy. But you do have to pivot your strategy now that you see your movement is being co-opted. Just like those black businessmen did at the turn of the 19th century. They eventually got to Liberia and Sierra Leone. But they had to change their tactics because getting on code was more important.
