Seriously, that’s the best you got?
Jesus quoting the OT to make a point?
So this is where reading comprehension and a little knowledge and understanding go a LONG way
As you admitted
@Hov already explained it all to you and you appreciate his response.
Take your L and move on.
In case you didn’t understand what
@Hov said a few pages back, let me explain:
Jesus is quoting LAWS OF A FAILED THEOCRACY which were a sign to us of the extreme standards GOD requires us to uphold if we are to keep our end (ISRAEL during the Old Testament times) of the covenant we see him establish with US (Israel then and now)
Breh, Im not Jewish.
But in Jesus Christ we are part of the “promise”.
I don’t expect you to believe this but try to understand it.
WE ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE OLD TESTAMENT LAWS
Even Jews will tell you these aren’t practical and cant be followed even if they wanted to.
But what we can LEARN from ISRAEL AND THE OLD BIBLE STORIES is what it takes to be HOLY
And what it took for ISRAEL to be set apart as GODS chosen people.
Like I said, ISRAEL is a FAILED THEOCRACY. They’ve been conquered and exiled over and over. The temple is destroyed. Modern day Jews barley have a land to call their own since 1948
And their waiting for the messiah to come and rule
And build a new temple.
Just ask
@Sccit if this is the true state of Israel today and the last 2000 years
But for Christians since Jesus came everything changed.
TODAY we have Jesus and the NEW COVENANT AND SPIRITUAL KINGDOM which is in effect to those who accept him as messiah and believe in the redeeming nature of his CRUCIFIXION, DEATH & RESURRECTION
And many Jews believed in Jesus. Just not yet the ENTIRE ISRAEL and world have accepted him as King as is prophesied
Even all you MUSLIMS will bow to Jesus one day
But I digress…..
See the whole point is the Laws ISRAEL put on themselves were a burden they couldn’t follow even though they tried
The lesson is in their failure
Because their sins and shortcomings only point to the need of a SAVIOR and GODS unconditional LOVE and MERCY which is shown in his FORGIVENESS offered to ALL MANKIND
You know the scripture:
“For God so loved the world he sent his SON….”
You don’t want to be forgiven?
see breh, you focus on the wrong thing so you’ll never actually learn
You just want to argue. God forbid you can actually come to some type of understanding
You pick out random scriptures to support your narrative and don’t even know the complete story or understand the bigger picture and message of the Bible
Youre so lost breh
Islam has 100% corrupted you mind.
But this is another “essay” you probably didn’t read anyways
