The irony of all this is that Triple Haitch is actually a B+ player

If we are going by money drawn, there is no way DX or Bret could be higher than Bill Goldberg. And Goldberg was MUCH bigger than Cena has been, could be, or ever will be at this point. That guy is begging for cheers at 37 years old. Never seen anything like it.

I can't cosign that list. Listing Hogan as a better wrestler than Flair. :mjlol:

But when it comes to overall popularity, Hogan > Flair.

Trips may be the best heel, possibly ever, but he never drew as THAT main guy. Nobody wanted to see him. :camby: He's definitely a good worker; a B+ worker. :smugbiden:

That period once WWF took over in April until the Goldberg-Hogan match is what I was talking about. Im on my phone and dont have the patience to look it up so I couldnt remember how long the time period was. But when WWF took over the ratings, WCW threw Goldberg out there to stop the bleeding, he got them back on top and they flip-flopped the ratings each week for the next lil while until WWF finally took over for good.

Goldberg was a huge huge star. That run in 98 is up there with the all-time greats. At that point he was carrying the company from a financial standpoint.

:beli: read the top of the first post nikka. it's not about who's the best wrestler. it's a combination of drawing power, mainstream appeal AND wrestling ability. of fukking course you rank Hogan above Flair when you consider all those.

Should of renamed it based on popularity. Hogan ain't shyt, Rock is decent with Austin the better of the 3. Flair is very popular, so wouldn't he be A+ based on your list?

Piper is an A. He completely flipped the script on what a heel should be like and shyts on every modern heel on today's roster aside from Ambrose in terms of in-ring tenacity, promo skills and selling 'the fight', mannerisms. I don't think Wrestlemania would have been as big a hit if not for Piper selling the event like a pro. Hulk needed a worthy adversary and that person was Piper. Also, Piper "boxed" the most popular tv figure in the world in Wrestlemania II. Putting that as a B+ is...erroneous.

Triple H became the ring leader of one of the largest factions in wrestling: DX. It was originally Shawn's. But eventually Shawn went heel and joined the corporation. HHH took it to new heights afterwards and they were drawing in big, big money. HHH should be higher.

Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels should be higher.

John Cena should be higher since he's a draw.

Goldberg should be lower.

You have a good point about Piper. It's hard to argue his impact on Wrestlemania 1.. I just don't feel like he is an A player for some reason... but the more you talk me into it, I definitely feel he should above Triple Haitch, so if we're gonna call Trips a B+ player then maybe Piper should be above him :ohhh: I'm gonna move Piper up.

But you gotta :camby: with the Triple H as ringleader of DX shyt. Dude was always the sideshow to the main players (Rock and Austin).

Hogan/Rock/Austin transcend wrestling. They are the 3 biggest stars ever.

Flair is right below them. Nothing wrong with that.

Flair being on the same level as Andre and Macho is debatable..he damn sure is not a industry mover like Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock. The Rock has never had a down period..so he's on some WHOLE other shyt in truth.

Oh yeah..Goldberg should of been as big as Austin in history. Just didn't work out that way.

but for a time period, he was....that's why he's A- and not A+. The run didnt have the legs. But it is still one of hte most successful runs on top ever.

A very short time but not industry shaking or anything like that. It was like a one year height. That's not enough to be amongst the top 5 greatest of all time. Not even close.
