north Korea doesn't have the capabilities to attack us. the fukk are they going to do? Sony is doing this because they're afraid of what else might leak from hacked files

Er I think Sony would disagree with you about N. Korea's capabilities. lol
It doesn't even have to be them. It could be a copycat, a North Korean sympathizer, a N. Korean immigrant. The cost benefit analysis is obvious. It's not even about someone dying to the movie theater companies/Sony it is about the possible liability after the fact. The cost benefit analysis is obvious. It's not worth the risk to release the movie.

The entire premise of the movie is to be provocative. Assassinating a world leader on film is close to the line. Sony/Seth Rogan/James Franco found out it is actually over the line. Play with fire you get burned.

Regardless of whether it was a good idea to make the movie or not, you don't back down. I don't like bullies and I hate when people don't stand up to them. Miss me with all this nonsense that it's wrong to disrespect NK. This movie is clearly parody and comedy. Charlie Sheen did that shyt years ago with Hot Shots and no one gave a damn. Dudes in here talking about how disrespectful it is to NK to be joking about killing their leader. If NK doesn't want that type of disrespect thrown their way then maybe their leader should stop oppressing his people. GTFOH......disrespect to NK?

I wish I knew some of you nikkas in real life so I could slap the shyt out of you. Fukk North Korea.

Or NK can just hack Sony and threaten to do it again. Changing the way they run their government is not necessary.
No exec at the various movie theater companies or at Sony are going to risk another cyber attack, have it happen and then tell their shareholders, "Well at least we stood up to bullies.":mjlol:

So from this point forward, anytime NK, or Syria, or anyone else decides that they don't like content being shown in a movie, all they have to do is threaten to blow up theaters? You can't have that. I didn't say that changing the way they run their government, if you can call it that, is necessary. Regardless if they threaten to hack someone or not, people will still view them that way. People will still write things. They will continue to spawn satire because of their ridiculousness. If they truly, TRULY hate that, then its gotta start from the top down.

No they have to show they can damage your company first and then threaten further damage, if it is just a threat without prior proof of follow through then no. Sony is damaged from the hack, they don't want further damage.

We're talking about the theaters here too though. I doubt theaters give a sh!t about Sony's dirty laundry. Sony is saying they caved because theaters said they wouldn't show it. That COULD be BS and they COULD be using that as an excuse not to face further embarrassment from the hack, but I tend to think it has more to do with the threats and theaters. That's the shyt you can't have. Anytime something upsetting that someone doesn't like is due to release, all you have to do is threaten to blow up theaters. shyt is ridiculous. You can't allow that shyt on US soil.

It's a shytty movie that they have nothing to do with and likely won't make alot of $ on themselves. Why take even a small risk for it? Like I said cost/benefit it's not worth it to to the theaters. If they were going to take a stand it would be for a movie they think they can make a lot of $ on or is such quality it would garner them good press. This is a business decision not some moral/nationalistic stance.

Who are you to make that call? And that's not going to matter to the people doling out the threats. Its not about whether the movie is good or not. It's a movie that Sony thought was good enough to let open on Christmas day. They expected to bank SOMETHING off of the movie. Taking a moral stance? Fukk morals. This is about not letting another country dictate what we can watch. What if they don't like the message that the new movie Selma sends to it's oppressed people that MIGHT someday see the movie? Its a long shot, but now they have precedence. You are saying that you are positive that Sony would fold ONLY if they thought the movie was going to be a classic film? That's ridiculous.

i think they rolling with the public safety theater excuse to pull the movie but after the execs coming forth apologizing bout them emails i think what was leaked was just jabs. nikkas was probably setting up cuckold cocaine gang bangs and charging it to some movie budget so it didnt show up on their credi cards :russ:
