That's not true Yung BLOOMBERG will be thier with the NYPD fam performing the hit single STOP AND FRISK featuring Busta Rhymes on the remix
Aint that where Kurupt served 1000 NY emcees?
Someone's gonna get fukkED UP!
All you need is Charlie Rock's dumb ass there and I'm bringing a razor
Those days are long over for me so I won't be in attendance. But if anything, I hope something like this can help galvanize the NY Hip Hop scene (including Jersey as well) But we'll see
Because of my age, I had just missed out on the Tunnel. But I def was in the mix for the Speed and Club Exit days. Dunno why dudes are getting so hyped in this thread. No way it's gonna have that feeling as the time it was actually happening. The clubs were def fun. But the front door search was like visiting Rikers.
Let's see who actually goes from this thread though.
Same here. Just missed out on the tunnel. I couldnt wait till i got old enough to go. All the stories the older nikkaz had about it. From the bytches, to the fights to seeing your fav rapper there.
Speed and Exit tho Speed was wild on i think it was friday nights.
I aint going to this tho. shyt just dont feel the same in NY...This feels forced to me.
just missed
Let me dust off my box cutter and snub nose
why are you dissin dipsetGonna be a bunch of old nikkas stuck in the past.. its like going to a high school reunion and seeing everybody that used to be popular looking
Silly me thought the Tunnel was turned into a hipster yuppie clothing store, like the Limelight
Why did I have to be born in 84, and miss out on Peter Gatien's NYC club dominance in the 90s

The NY club scene, especially the venues that cater to the young Hip Hop/R&B demographic, has been on life support for quite some time now. The strip club culture has definitely took over. But it's going to be interesting to see how it pans out. Hopefully there can be some balance, bridging the gap between the older and younger generation. But overall, it will never compare to that era!*sigh*
Honestly, the New York nightlife scene seems so fake and forced now.
I go out and see all of these flyoer state pissants at the clubs around here now trying to do their best impression of 90 club kids and it makes me laugh. They have no clue but are just acting the part. I'll admit, I'm old enough but young enough so I missed out too, but they did too. It's not the same and I couldn't imagine it would have the same feeling. But f*ck it I'll probably be there just cause.
What someone said about trying to bring back that 90s feel is dead on. I'm older now, so I know what it is.

But The Tunnel for one night will cause a lot of old heads to fight and wild out to old school joints. None of that simp shyt either.
Club scene fell off around 06 imo. Thats when the bottle poppin shyt took over and people decided to stop having fun. Turned into a who knows who/fashion show/photo op instead of the club.
nikkaz and chics going to the club just to get pics on 7days7nights and all the parties
Then the south influence took over and slowly people migrated to the strip clun the past 2-3 years. I rememeber when people called me crazy for going to the strip joint but now you have it like the south where chics and dudes are there cause its the thing to do and the way the music is now.
nah I doubt that....im an old head myself....and most old heads who made it to this age will just reminisce over old homies whom didn't make it and how thankful they are to be alive and have kids and keep their jobs and a roof over their heads and just being grateful to experience HIP HOP in it's still pristine form...
I can imagine all the old heads shedding a tear over some pitchers of beer when "CAN IT BE ALL SO SIMPLE" by GHOSTFACE gets played on the speakers
"Let's talk about the good ole days..the good ole days...".."yeah let's talk about dem shyts"
