:heh: It's really not deep at all, breh.

When we count, when we get to 10, we start again at 1 even though the thing we're counting may not be starting over.

This isn't even philosophical to me, it's a very simple fact.

In order to count to 15, I must first exhaust all digits then start the process over with another 1 in the ones place. My 3 year old learns this in pre-school, nothing "new age" about it. :heh:

Maybe you're looking too deep because this seems like an easy concept to grasp. Especially since you've already consigned without even knowing it. You said when we get to 9 we begin a tens place. Did you "begin" life again at age 10 or is that just a limitation of our number system?

Indeed. Good to see someone understands. It's not complicated at all. Peace

Friend, I honestly mean this in a sincere way, but this comes across to me as New Age nonsense. It's something that might come across deep to some, but not to me. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather be in here debating this with you over 90% of the other shyt on this site, but I can't cosign this.

To each his own.

Why did you quote me, buddy? You didn't answer my question...

My mistake.

It relates to Einstein's theory of relativity/special relativity and perception of time by different observers.

Time dilation refers to the fact that clocks moving at close to the speed of light run slow. Consider two observers, each holding an identical clock. These clocks work using pulses of light. An emitter bounces light off a mirror, and the reflected pulse is picked up by a detector next to the emitter. Every time a pulse is detected, a new pulse is sent out. So, the clock measures time by counting the number of pulses received; the interval between pulses is the time it takes for a pulse to travel to the mirror and back.

If our two observers are stationary relative to each other, they measure the same time. If they are moving at constant velocity relative to each other, however, they measure different times. As an example, let's say one observer stays on the Earth, and the other goes off in a spaceship to a planet 9.5 light years away. If the spaceship travels at a speed of 0.95 c (95% of the speed of light), the observer on Earth measures a time of 10 years for the trip.

The person on the spaceship, however, measures a much shorter time for the trip. In fact, the time they measure is known as the proper time. The time interval being measured is the time between two events; first, when the spaceship leaves Earth, and second, when the spaceship arrives at the planet. The observer on the spaceship is present at both locations, so they measure the proper time. All observers moving relative to this observer measure a longer time, given by:

29c.GIF

In this case we can use this equation to get the proper time, the time measured for the trip by the observer on the spaceship:

29d.GIF

So, during the trip the observer on Earth ages 10 years. Anyone on the spaceship only ages 3.122 years.

And it is tied together in a Scientific American article titled "Is Time an Illusion?"

Are you aware that when the universe expanded matter traveled faster than the speed of light? So that would mean matter has traveled backwards in time before the universe has even expanded. What happens then?

Why would it travel backwards in time?

lol nice catch on the year thing, while my point was technically wrong because of hte actual mechanics, the point still stands. Or rather let me revise:
A new day is nothing more than the result of ONE spinning ball.

Bottom line is the point still stands.

outside of the technical correction i have no god damn clue what you're talking about? Maybe it's all the esoteric math speak but ultimately hte point being made isn't clear...i'm being generous in say that there is an actual point btw, if there is a point in either what you respond with or what the OP is getting at then make the point, keep the fuzzy math proofs out of it...at least that way we can judge the point apart from the proof.

did i say that? These number are only hear because we think them. The rules for them are only there because we made them. Everything is connected to the concept of zero... only in the sense that without an understanding of it you don't understand that there is no "nothing".

what about 1.01? again, if there's a point to be made stop trying to prove it with fuzzy math, it's not making the point any clearer and if anything is detracting from a possible good point (again i'm being generous).
well , Thanks for being generous, that's more that I would deserve for coming w smart dumb shyt... but

you're welcome for the technical correction that I provided for you about the Earths rotation..... I do know some things about math, and advanced math. Wack ass universities have taught me those things. I might even know a few things about technology. That shyt isn't knowledge.

1.5 is like saying today is tuesday and it's 'noon' right now.... noon is part of the same day which is part of the same cycle of that day. You could say that noon is 12, but time doesn't really exist and neither does 1.5.... so what are we really talking about? We can only limit ourselves when we make connections.... “What we think, we become.” it's a infinite circle everything we place in that circle and every abstract reality or imaginary concept becomes part of our existence. “Our life is a creation of our mind.”

Knowledge is looking at scientific calculators that use NaN - in disgust and knowing that it's simply a reflection of our limited understand of the number zero and life itself.

"Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.”

At least you agree the numbers, our understanding of numbers, and the rule are our own creations..... We follow them and believe in them like we do religion. What I know is - if a creator of this universe is real, then it came before whatever we think of as religion. Incidentally, Whatever mathematics existed in the universe 14+ billion years ago, was before the parameters we placed on it due to our lack of understand of how math, life, and the universe are connected. Due to that lack of understanding we may say retarded shyt like the age of the universe is 13.8 bill years. Without the understanding of mathematics and the concept of no nothingness... then you will start it at the big bang.

Even the aliens on Lilo n Stitch (since HOGAN mentioned kids) laughed at humans because "they are so primitive they have to "start over" every time a rock hits their planet"

The best mathematicians in ancient times were also philosophers who meditated n shyt for a reason. These days we think about everything so basic that we don't even place a value on zero.

That's what happens when you travel faster than the speed of light!

scientist have already sent tiny particles back in time by manipulating the gravity around them. They did that without a complete understanding of relativity and w us never discovering a wormhole.

I personally hope that we stay ignorant on this subject. A scientist that's intelligent enough to figure it out - should also be smart enough to know that with the laws of causuality - we would fukk everything up attempting to do what the universe has already done.

But as far as this thread is concerned........... this is start of beginning to understand how we are in a circle infinity.

I think Albert Einstein and a few others know. I know for sure that people in Ancient Asia speculated on this shyt long ago, but Albery Ein said spooky action at a distance" when speaking about particles traveling at distances.... That dude knew some shyt, cuz now we know that photons can travel 10k X faster than light.

We are about 400 million lifetimes away from completely understanding this... And I'm happy about that because we would surely destroy ourselves if we know who to manipulate these particles, waves, shyt that we call time. 1 person could jerk off in the past and possibly cause a world war today.

We should be able to teleport humans by the time we start living off Earth. Xiao-song Ma, one of the scientists involved in the experiment, said in a press release that “The realization of quantum teleportation over a distance of 143 km has been a huge technological challenge.” There are already doing teleportations of information. http://www.forbes.com/sites/alexknapp/2012/09/06/physicists-quantum-teleport-photons-over-88-miles/ “The next step is satellite-based quantum teleportation, which should enable quantum communication on a global scale. We have now taken a major step in this direction and will use our know-how in an international cooperation, which involves our colleagues at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The goal is to launch a ‘quantum satellite mission’.”

We are moving fast as shyt with this.... by the time we can get AARP we wont even need smart phones.

that's not right. during inflation, space-time/the universe itself expanded faster than the speed of light, not the matter inside it.

the idea is, the universe can expand faster than the speed of light (relative to some other point) but objects moving in space-time can't.

Breh what are you talking about? The singularity expanded WITHIN the universe...

spacetime singularity

okay? and?

What is the difference between black hole singularity and big bang singularity?

The Big Bang singularity is a point of zero volume, but very high mass, which makes the density infinite. This singularity contained all of the matter and energy in the Universe. The initial moment of the cyclopean explosion very well remains a mystery — however, astronomers and physicists believe that after the tiniest fraction of a second, the strong nuclear force and the electromagnetic force separated, which probably caused the Universe to begin inflating. The Big Bang itself created space, time, and all of the matter and energy we know today.
Black hole singularities are created after the core of a very massive star collapses beyond an imaginary sphere called the event horizon. Since these singularities are infinitesimally small, they possess infinite density.

The differences are that black hole singularities, of course, do not contain all of the matter and energy in the Universe because there are so many of them. There was only one Big Bang singularity, and it contained the whole Universe. Another difference is that space and time were born from the Big Bang singularity, and black holes actually stretches out space to the point where it probably rips the fabric of space-time, and ends time altogether.

According to Stephen W. Hawking, singularities either occur entirely in the future or entirely in the past. In this case, black hole singularities always lie in the future (if you were to go near one, your time will come to an end), and the Big Bang singularity always lie in the past (if you were able to rewind time, galaxies will become closer together, eventually coming together at a point).

A black hole singularity is the dimensionless point where all matter pulled into the back hole is concentrated. It has infinite density and therefore does not exist within space-time as it is the point of infinite curvature of space-time.

The big bang singularity is where all the mass of the universe used to be concentrated. It had all of the properties of a black hole singularity but from it 'grew' space time and matter was released into this space as the fundamental particles of very high energy. This is the big bang. Therefore, the main difference is that a black hole singularity is the end of space time (and pulls matter in) and the big bang singularity is the beginning of space time (where matter and space were made 'real').
