This show is definitely on it way to becoming guilty pleasure territory to me. The backlash against this show has been fukking ridiculous.

They went on and on and on about “rape culture” when all the sex in the show so far has been consensual, some mild bdsm and a woman masturbating. I get the show just not being some peoples taste but it’s nowhere as outrageous and offensive as people keep gassing it up to be chalk it to selective fake outrage.

Through the writing and performances, the show is 100% signaling something like an anti "woke"/cancel culture stance, on certain issues, doesn't mean it's promoting rape culture but there's some stuff:

-intimacy coordinator is an inept goofball micromanager/safe spaces dweeb who gets locked in the bathroom by the more "alpha" manager

-The lines where Joslyn says "yeah I kinda like that though", "he's so rapey" (when weirdly, he really doesn't come off very sleazy at all, he comes off very mild and nice, but I think that's really the Weekend, nice kid from Toronto)

-The Vanity Fair reporter's character being a fake....whats the word? Ally. Very concerned with progressive causes

it's not even so bad its good or guilty pleasure status, its just terrible.

Lily is trying, I'll give her that. The Weeknd has zero charisma, charm or any on screen presence
really a waste of a very good supporting cast

they even failed at doing their version of Tony seeing Elvira come down the stairs in Scarface

its not even visually appealing, thats the main thing I'm disappointed in so far because that was the only thing I thought they would get right

the score is biting/copying something and its annoying me I can't get what it is.

Yes sex & drugs. No at work, unless you can watch super privately. Lot of nudity, sex scenes, drug use, etc.

It’s…decent…I’ll keep watching but so far it’s nothing special
