I always loved Nicholas Weding Refn's work, even The Neon Demon, and Only God Forgives
The Neon Demon, stylistically is stunning and as a light satire of LA, it's pretty good.
Also, note: I met one of the producers of that movie in the pool at the Ganesvort in Chelsea, and he was a total creep, hitting on these two girl who were teenagers or close.

I thought the pilot was fine. There is an incident that happens off camera that they argue about for half the episode, 15 minutes too long in my eyes. It has nothing to do with The Weeknd but they filmed at his house. Acting pretty good, decent about of nudity. Weekend does show up until halfway third way through. The lead actors have pretty decent chemistry considering California's laid back lifestyle. As far as stanning characters, I need to see more.

The showrunner throws personal jabs at the movie industry and magazines with who he casts as an InterViewer and intimacy coordinator. I don't agree with everything he does but it's interesting to see.

The writing is god-awful. Slow episode but did well to set up the dynamics at play. Levinson always tries to hide his terrible dialog and bad acting behind camera work and editing. Hopefully the story picks up over the next couple of episodes.

Decent cast with Dan Levy, the Bodies Bodies Bodies girl, sleazy ass Eli Roth, but the Euphoria magic ain't quite there just yet. Hopefully picks up in the next few eps. Cinematography gorgeous as usual tho.
