buying their singles and helping albums go platinum is why music sounds so garbage today.
I prefer my artists to be artists.
to struggle and then make thought provoking music from that struggle.

not be a rich millionaire with a team of marketing people telling which direction to go for the next hit.

if they want money they should make off of shows not from plat records.

any artist whoever approaches his album like this. (intro, party cut, record for the ladies, record for hiphop fans, ect outro.)
is not for me.
I want one cohesive work of art built for one audience. not a party sampler.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
If you wanna be a leech that's fine, do whatever. But don't go around like OP saying STUPID shyt like "durr why do people buy music lolol?"
Nah I'm not downing anyone who does. I think it's dumb to ask "why doesn't everyone just steal shyt"

We are in an era where people are now thinking it's free. It's not. Its a product with a price. And because you don't walk in a store and stick it in your pocket, people say "free"

You stealing shyt. fukk it I'm stealing shyt. Music, movies, games, apps, Photoshop, Netflix. All that shyt is stealing if you ain't paid for it straight up

I'd never EXPECT everyone on earth to become a degenerate like me tho :yeshrug:

So, it's asinine to buy the better quality of something you actually want physically in your possession:heh:
So you think they record an album in a digital studio on protools. Go get it mastered up. Get the files and send them to iTunes and everywhere else. Then press up Cds USING THE SAME FILES

And somehow the cd version is a better quality?

This ain't 1998 breh. nikkas are getting the files straight from iTunes and uploading them. shyt some are being converted to a HIGHER quality.

Explain to us this logic you speak of :lupe:

I spotify all new music as sort of a taste test. Or if it's old I have Amazon Prime so I'll download it to my cloud. If I like it, I buy it it's really that simple. Probably have around 4000 songs downloaded to my Amazon Cloud and I'd guess around 90-95 percent are bought, either thru Amazon, iTunes, or Bandcamp.

I don't download movies illegally either. If you're taking precious time to make art I like, I'm gonna reward you with my hard-earned money so you make more good shyt.

I guess you didn't see where I said they upload the exact same files you'd PAY to get on iTunes. Or the fact you can find any album in a wav or flac file

Again it's not 1998. I'm not shytting on what you want to do. But there is literally no difference in you buying that cd and me downloading the wavs of that cd

Purchasing a album helps ensure that that artist will be able to release more work and it limits label interference into the album making process because if labels know that a artist is going to atleast go gold. they'll refrain from trying to pulling a "hit" out of thin air because they know they don't have to go to such great lengths for him/her to reach that benchmark hence why Kendrick can make a album like To Pimp a Butterfly for retail release.
