Someone needs to a write a huge profile about this guy. How did a random diasporan become the most influential activist and the right-hand to power in a massive country like Ethiopia :jbhmm:

Ever since Abiy took power this guy comes back to the country. Oromos are really feeling themselves and tplf doesn’t like it. Jawar is a dangerous man. Btw I heard guelleh is going to deport a bunch of Oromos after that incident in dire dhabe

I read some Oromos had to protected by police in Djibouti. This can become region-wide ethnic violence if it doesnt stop soon :francis:

Ironically, some of the Oromo-Somali fighting has been between clans that speak the other groups language and intermarry :francis:

They lynched Somalis? It's that Fakkit Iley who instigated this. These Oromos are killing random Somalis in retaliation. People who aren't even from Ileys clan.

Check out this series of articles on the Horn.

The Thin Red Line - African Arguments

The Red Sea zone has long been neglected by governments, policymakers and analysts. Half of it has been seen as part of the Middle East, the other half as part of Africa, with few trying to bridge the divide. Yet, increasingly, the relations across this narrow strip of water are shaping politics, economics, social connections and much more on both sides.

This African Arguments series, The Thin Red Line, seeks to examine the various fast-changing dynamics spanning the Red Sea. Written by leading journalists, academics and researchers of the region, the articles will examine developments from a variety of angles. It will cover domestic and international politics, economics, migration, security and the responses to new challenges and opportunities.

The series is supported by the office of the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa.

Excellent series. I've read most of them so far, and I highly recommend it.

:dead: :damn:

also Somalia welcomed the Eritrea delegation today to continue discussions on expanding diplomatic ties

Somalia: Eritrean delegation arrives in Mogadishu

Djibouti is still angry at Farmaajo for stating that the sanctions against Eritrea were wrong.

Maybe they want to leverage Eritrea's relationship with the UAE to restore diplomatic relations with the latter.
