They are expansionists by nature. The oromo migrations were no joke. The fact that they are so diverse (Orthodox, Pente, Muslim etc..) and dont really have a distinct culture is because they concquered a lot of different groups of people and made them assimilate. Thats why they have such large numbers and big land mass. Like for example the oromos that live more north tend to be almost indistinguishable from habeshas and a lot of the ones that live more east are just oromized somalis.
I dont have beef with anybody and dont mean to sound tribalistic but thats just history

Looking at this dudes TL and I’m gonna wager this is fake news. Addis has tons of people who could careless what happens in the Somali region and know little about it.

At this late date, even if the govt calms the situation down there needs to be a real effort to develop the Ogaden and actually harness the potential of the land and population. Somalis could offer a lot to the country, don’t just make Ogaden some oil come up.

Apparently riots broke out in Dire Dawa a few days ago over the Jiijiga violence. Oromos killed a few Djiboutians and they evacuated their citizens from the city, but its quiet now it seems.
