Why should he do anything? His face is on stickers and shirts and buttons and all that. :mjpls:

Cult of personality on lock and no one is fighting the government and system that continues to pit them against one another.

has the new president of the somali region said anything?
He addressed it in Somali in an interview. Called for peace/calm between the two people with historical ties etc. Only the federal army has the power to intervene :manny:

Bashir has survived a ton of these before

Yh that's what I was going to say. These subsidy/cost of living protests flare up every once in a while in Khartoum. Bashir survived the Sudanese Intifada during the Arab Spring...I haven't been following this but I'm not sure what would be different this time :jbhmm:

And unlike Mubarak his army have been happy to open fire on protesters in the past.

Im just speculating, who knows :manny: Sanctions have been removed, but nobody has seen real benefits with inflation skyrocketing. Bashir had to shuffle his cabinet in response to pressure a few months ago, so he may be facing internal pressure within the ruling party/military Sudan’s economic crisis: Bashir dissolves government

This one started in the smaller towns in the North and the East before it arrived in Khartoum today, rather than vice-versa. It'll be interesting to see how army/security forces respond if it grows.
