Isaias had an interview today, first time addressing the eritrean public since the peace deal with Ethiopia. I didn't watch but I heard it was much ado about nothing. No talks about constitution, releasing prisoners, elections etc. Questions probably prepared beforehand :stopitslime: All of a sudden he says he doesn't give a fukk about Badme :hhh:

Eritrea 2019, Can't wait :jawalrus::lawd::banderas:

Rip Sandman :wow:

This is the song he sampled for that song

Yemane Barya is a legend :banderas: He is the man in my avi. RIP

Isasis Aferwaki and Eritrea won. TPLF as an entity is now non-existent; and no longer a direct threat to Eritrea. Peace established with Ethiopia and the new Ethiopian government; which now ensures that the advent of a future Ethiopia-Eritrea border war is extinguished. Trade with Ethiopia resumed, ports available and now investment from Arabia to pour in. And sanctions about to be lifted.

Eritrea is still fiercely independent, governed for Eritrea for Eritreans; economically, socially, religiously and militarily uncorrupted by foreign forces. Free from IMF, World Bank and Western economic domination. The very few free independent nations in the world. Now can do business and trade with anyone in this world whilst controlling its destiny.

Isasis Aferwaki and EPLF, Just :wow:

I said before, time will vindicate this man and I was sure right, Eritreans are blessed to have a leader like this man and government they have

:what: Eritrea had its sanctions removed solely because of foreign backing, you are drinking the propaganda kool-aid. You really think Isaias brought the West to its knees ?

The main events that allowed sanctions to be removed and Eritrea to slowly shed its black sheep status:

1) Yemen war and Gulf crisis. Its proximity to Yemen and previous relations with Qatar made it an attractive partner to win over for the UAE and Saudi. It is the UAE and Saudi who quietly have lobbied for sanctions to be removed, and even got the Americans on board with the idea. America's top diplomat in the Horn, and now the American Ambassador to Somalia visited Eritrea to help pave the way: Yamamoto heads to Djibouti after rare Eritrea visit

2) Ethiopia's domestic uprising and internal coup that placed the TPLF out of power.

Now Eritrea is aligned with the same forces its ranted that it furiously opposed for decades and you're claiming its evidence of the latter. Amazing mental gymnastics.

Never said Isaias and EPLF brought the West to its knees; the West is doing that on its own. EPLF definitely outfoxed them and will reap the real dividends now.

Well, obviously the geopolitical situation changes; it’s called the waiting game. America’s outright influence in the Horn and in Africa is starting to wane. It’s called the waiting game for a reason, things change and they have drastically changed,

These no shame in having a stronger ally lobby for you for their benefits, obviously Eritrea alone didn’t do it but their status quo remains the same, free and independent.

The different is Eritrea has chosen to align with them; they haven’t been forced or coerced.

Eritrea now enters the world political, economic and military arena free to do its business with a self-guided policy; if this isn’t a major win for Isaias and EPLF I don’t know what it.

This assertion would make sense if the geopolitical and regional developments strengthened China's hand and/or other countries broadly aligned against the Americans. But the opposite happened - the new Ethiopian Government is even friendlier to the U.S. than the TPLF-led one was. Just a few weeks ago they received $1.3 billion in grants and loans from the World Bank: UPDATE 1-World Bank approves $1.2 bln in grants, loans to Ethiopia | Reuters and Abiy constantly highlights his pledge to ensure the next elections are open and pluralistic - which will be certain to grant Ethiopia even greater direct support from the U.S. and the EU.

Same goes for Eritrea's new partnership with the UAE and Saudi. Prior to this alignment, Eritrea was friendly with Iran and received support from Qatar. It virtually cut off ties with both - the former will be sure to please the Americans and brings them in lockstep with current American policy.

If Afwerki deserves credit for anything, its for being pragmatic enough to switch his partnerships and benefactors to ensure his continued survival. But there is nothing about this pragmatism that is remotely coherent in terms of ideology. Eritrea spent a decade plus ranting about the West, and is now a few more moves away from being one of its closest partners in the Horn :heh: I suspect official diplomatic relations will be restored sooner than later with the Americans as well.

lol that guy drank the propaganda kool-aid. The UN sanctions were an arms embargo and travel ban on ministers, it doesn't have much to do with the current state of Eritrea. I guess a positive thing is that he is out of excuses, the emperor is finally without clothes :mjjjf: Or maybe he will start another distraction from implementing the constitution and democracy, maybe invade Sudan this time :ehh:

Have you heard about this mass arrest of top military generals and corrupt business elites last week? There was even a big documentary released by the state in amharic.

Almost all of the arrests were of TPLF/Tigrayans. A lot of big tigray journalists gotten on some paranoid weirdo shyt lately :mjlolll3: This guy is always overreacting tho :mjlol:

The trump led America is more isolationist and has a more hand off approach than Obama led America. This works in the favour of Eritrea. America’s position in Africa has been compromised for a near decade now; their weight and politic influence is waning in numerous aspects. They more interested in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and South China Sea anyways as these a major geopolitics threat to their superpower status. The Horn is the least of their actual concerns. And Abiy relationship with America isn’t underpinned by Eritrean or Somali hostilities; but rather the beneficial impact for all Ethiopians.

The World Bank has been handling AID to Ethiopia for decades like its candy; no attachment AID Ethiopia has received for years, this isn’t breaking news.

It seems you don’t grasp the concept of complete independency as this is foreign to your reality and understanding of Africa. Eritrea chose to entertain the offerings of UAE and Saudi, not for America’s benefits or UAE or Saudi but it aligned with Eritrea’s interest. It’s a major geopolitics game and Eritrea seeks to benefits.

Eritrea isn’t close to the West. Eritrea needs the West off its back, this war in Yemen and the diplomatic spat in the Gulf has worked in Eritrea favours; absolutely nothing to do with being friendlier with the West.

But my original point remains, and withstands near all your points. Eritrea is now back in the political and economic arena, free for any foreign shackles, agreement or military hostiles. Free to do business with anyone in this world without answering to Western powers. This is all what Eritrea wanted and this is what Eritrea has.

This man's trying to stoke Tigrayan ethnic sentiment? Is Ethiopia more like the USSR or India? :shaq2:
