So last night I watched The Hobbit.
I wasn't really that impressed with it as much as I was with the original Lord of the Rings trilogy.

But I did feel like The Hobbit laid down the ground work for the LOTR movies.

My question is, does it get better in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and the new 5 Armies movie?

I just wanna know before I invest 6 more hours into this.

:lupe:

The problem with the hobbit movies is that instead of just, you know, adapting the hobbit book, is they wanted to not only stretch it into a trilogy but they wanted to make it lord of the rings prequels.

So theyre this weird mesh of the hobbit book, crammed with scenes thrown in to connect them more with lord of the rings and crammed with even more scenes just to fill out time and check off generic subplot boxes.

The Desolation of Smaug is the best of the three Hobbit movies. Smaug is probably the best character in the trilogy.

The new movie was alright, but it seemed like it shouldn't have been a separate movie, if that makes sense. They should have just cut scenes and made it two movies instead of three.
