Double edged sword. Williamsburg and Bushwick have little businesses and shops popping up everywhere but the neighborhoods are losing their identities, which is kind of what makes NYC special.
In Bay Ridge it used to be Italians and Irish. Now a mess of middle eastern communities are popping up all over there.
East NY and Brownsville are still the same. They not THAT brave yet. But The Stuy? Shiiiit at 2 or 3 in the morning you can see white girls stumbling around drunk from partying in the city. 10 years ago that was NOT the case.
Breh...there's cats that's from here ain't going to the Bronx
Not unless it's a Yanks game. BX is wild...and will probably be wild for the forseeable future. That's a whole borough of just HOOD.
that's probably becuase they would have gotten violently gang raped though lol
its good females can stumble around drunk at night wtf is the problem
oh no human beings get to live in peace and not be scared to walk home alone
the fuk
But why are black people selling their homes and stores to these hipsters? Are there black hipsters?
is this actually what is happening or is it just city property being sold off

It's bad. With the hipster rush beyond full swing in Chicago it' just an identity wipe once the hipsters move in. Yuppies are preferably better for the culture since they just settle and want quiet times. Hipsters bring in a whole new aura and most of it entails mass business endeavors to get you to spend all that loot (clothing, art, bars, etc.).
You can relate better as youthful people with open minds but beyond that, the place you once knew will be completely gone and something else in less than 10 years.
I seen it in NYC when I go up there, its so different than when I was a kid visiting up there
Washington, DC as a whole has been going through it. The identity of chocolate city has gone down the drain and all the blacks are being pushed into PG County, MD
