Dont sleep on Navy Blue btw, he dropped a crazy album at the end of last year

I'm 7 tracks in right now and I fukk wit it. He's definitely talented

His music it's like billy woods mixed with Blu to me. It's only right that he has a Billy feature on the album

I'm still planning the framework of this thread going forward ( @Ya' Cousin Cleon I was inspired by what you said earlier in the thread. Thinking about naming it some variation of "The New Blog Era" but it's not final yet)

The main focus will be on exposing each other to artists pushing the culture forward and sharing quality recently released music in hip hop

A weekly spotlight will likely be in play too. Album of the week, artist of the week, song of the week, categories like that to encourage poster engagement

In the meantime here's a throwback to 10 years ago that just came on shuffle on my spotify

Dee 1 one of the hardest Christian rappers of all time

The Hip Hop Is Alive Thread

This is a space where listeners young and old can put each other on to great music and talented artists in hip hop today. Whether if it's conscious, music to smoke to, melodic, or whatever else, nothing is off limits in here

I'll post newly released songs and albums in here at least once every week. I strongly encourage everyone to do the same. Don't be afraid to post what you like and feel proves the genre is still striving

Songs of the week YouTube playlists will be posted every Sunday and songs of the month playlists will be posted at the beginning of every month for the previous month

There will be artist/song/album of the month polls with collective input from yall on who and what should be voted on. Year end polls and discussions of all the categories will be had too

This is also a place where we can have general discussion about what's going on in the culture. Trends, up and coming producers, overlooked unsigned rappers, so on and so forth

Let's keep this thread positive. You can criticize but don't overdo it while adding nothing of value. We're changing the narrative of The Booth in here, enlightening each other and spreading our love for the music

Let's open our minds and appreciate all of the artistry within the culture today

Nottz set the table for Rapsody, Rah Digga, Nikki Grier, and Ke Turner to collaborate and make an excellent song in tribute to black women across the globe. It's off The Future is Female project that I assume will be releasing sometime soon

Nas and Jay came together for this DJ Khaled track Sorry Not Sorry. The song is a vibe and another reason why these legends still deserve their flowers

Alchemist dropped an EP called This Thing of Ours. 8 tracks. 4 with rappers on them and 4 without. He adds another solid offering under his belt with features from Earl Sweatshirt, Boldy James, Navy Blue, Sideshow (dope up and coming MC under Alc's wing. fun fact: he went to my high school :ahh:) Pink Siifu and Maxo

One of the overlooked rappers of the Blog Era, XV dropped a new EP called Roots. He dropped 2 other EPs in the last two weeks named Soil and Seeds. It's looking like he's back from his hiatus and here to stay

Morray, an artist who utilizes soulful melodies with conviction, dropped his Street Sermons album. I haven't heard the whole thing yet but these songs stood out from what I did hear. He's someone making major waves in the mainstream that has authentic music you can feel

Ross collabs with singer Cruel Youth for the Godfather of Harlem TV series soundtrack. The track is short but it's really good for what it is

Feel free to post other songs and projects if there's any other notable releases that came out today

@RIPODB @steadyrighteous @CrushedGroove @Ya' Cousin Cleon @dora_da_destroyer @Majestyx @Dolo @IntellectualViolence @ThisWorldAintRight @The_Third_Man @SilverSamurai @Mastamimd @Low End Derrick @iamduval @BelowTheMasonDixon @cartierhoe @tremonthustler1 @PimpstarP @Boesky @KingZaire_

And anyone who's not in this mention list but wants to be, let me know and I'll add you to it

Let's get it
