:why:

Breh, they did care down in Miami... it just wasn't reflected as well as it is in places where that's all there is to be concerned about...pretty much every major HS in Miami has had mutliple Canes pass thru there. Northwestern,Carol City,Killian,Coral Gables etc.

take a trip down ocean ave, i bet you'll see that hurricane colored donk :lawd:

nope, you can base how much people cared solely on if the stadium was filled to capacity. what would actually going down to miami or actually living it prove...when you have Google? :troll:

the game and "business" of college football has passed them by

did you look at the stands? there was MAYBE 5,000 people at the game today

what recruits would want to play in an empty stadium that's 25 minutes from campus? not to mention the wack ass football facilities they got... that shyt didn't matter back in the day when they were keeping a large majority of the South Florida talent for themselves, but college football is growing as a business at an exponential rate, and UM, as a small private school, just can't keep up

if you're a recruit and were at today's game, and then next week went to Doak, or The Swamp, or The Horseshoe, etc. where an actual college football environment exists... you're telling me you'd commit to The U? fukk no.

the mystique of the glory days are gone, the kids that are being recruited these days were too young to remember when The U was dominant, all they remember is the Kyle Wright/Jacory years... shyt means nothing to them

and to think, they haven't even been hit with sanctions yet :snoop:

they just don't have the alumni base and boosters to keep up with the big dogs of college football... they'll never have the money to sign a premiere coach or coordinator, so why would one go there knowing he'd be at a severe disadvantage in terms of the off campus stadium, facilities, etc.

actually agree with this. But Miami should have never been able to compete at that level anyway considering they are a private school going up against public schools like FSU and schools like UF that have way bigger alumni bases. and as someone who attended FSU I agree, the atmosphere of being able to walk from campus or your apartment to the stadium shyts on having to drive from Coral Gables to Miami Gardens.

breh, Trip meant stadium attendance. Thats all I am talking about. :why:

nope, you can base how much people cared solely on if the stadium was filled to capacity.

thats what Trip meant, tbf.

Its all good to say you support the team, but if you aint showing up the program is not getting any money.

And again, my argument is that it doesnt matter. Miami has had a string of bad coaches and recruiting classes. Thats what is hurting the program, a decade of neglect.

We heard this same shyt when Butch took over for Erickson, and we know how that turned out. Miami will be back.

:obama: :laff:

bruh I hate FSU football, but he was right in what he said.

but it is the same shyt being said for 25 years yet UM will always get a good core of south florida recruits and have more future hofamers in there alumni than UF and FSU combined

if you look at the league now and see cats like Sam Shields, Jimmy Graham, Travis Benjamin, Calais Campbell, Kenny Phillips, Leonard Hankerson and many more.... all having impact on nfl teams shows getting talent has and never will be the problem

it was back to back bad coaches simple as that

Butch has a well known reputation for recruiting... he went to North Carolina, and turned them into a respectable program for a small amount of time.

Shannon and Coker didn't, Coker ate real real good off Butch

I agree that Miami has put some talent into the NFL despite being wack, and that's largely attributed to Shannon not knowing how to develop players... but notice, all of those guys with the exception of Calais Campbell are at skill positions; to contend year in and year out, you have to be especially strong on both sides of the line... that's the very first thing Jimbo did when he got to Tallahassee and look at where the Noles are now

when the SEC plays out of conference teams, it's rare that their skill position players are THAT superior to the other teams'... they just dominate in the trenches and that's where games are won; Henderson and Chickillo were supposed to be those guys that anchored each side of the line, but they haven't lived up to their potential thus far; obviously they still have a long way to go, so we'll see

all that facility, small crowd shyt is really a crock of shyt. miami still gets 4 and 5 star recruits and kids who don't care about any of that. it's just a matter of coaching them up while they're at miami, which the coaches have done a piss poor job of doing.
