i always said it, they have the most forced and unimpressive bars to me. never heard a clipse line or song that had me holding my head saying run that back. and their voices, smh...sound like robots. they just don't come off as being genuine to me, they're lame to be honest.

The Clipse get so over hyped on here. And I'm high and feeling analytical so here's a hate on the Clipse thread.


I don't like the Clipse. Maybe a good verse or song here and there but usually they just sound so fake and forced. Not to mention they have an affinity for cheesy disco sounding beats.

Take these lyrics as an example of why the Clipse suck


Technically these are crafty lyrics. But it just seems so efforted. Like Pusha put on his thinking cap and sat at a desk and strained brainstorming Ray Charles metaphors before he came up with this. Good lyrics should seem effortless. Every rapper has used a Ray Charles metaphor. Its like Pusha thought that if he took the Ray Charles cliche and came up with the most complex double entendre'd metaphorical Ray Charles lyric possible, it would make him the best rapper ever. It doesn't...its just trying too hard.

It'd be one thing if they were trying to kick knowledge. Maybe if they were talking about some intellectual shyt they could get away with using all these cerebral metaphors but almost every song is about selling drugs. They use all this brainy wordplay to compensate for real creativity. "Maybe if we use a bunch of multisyllable rhymes and deep metaphors nobody will notice all our verses are basically the same!"

Not that they put effort into it. That they sound efforted. Think about it. They sound forced trying to hard and fake.

Funny you say that, when thats the last album that had RZA and True Master on it. He hasnt messed with any Wu producers on his solos ever since

PTA is crazy underrated. Aside from Tush, that whole album was some grimey throwback soulful-ish

never listened to a whole clipse album..i view them in the same light as outkast..i know they're nice on the mic, have made songs that i like, but i just can't get into them overall..

i've already downloaded outkast whole discography(haven't got around to listening to all of it)..now i have to DL the clipse
