That female ambassador at least empathized with Offred but was :manny: in the end.

I would like them to do a little more world building. We know Canada and Mexico arent getting down like this but how the rest of the U.S. laid out? People get sent to the colonis but what exactly is that and how many handmaidens remain in the country? If Mexico is expecting to trade for handmaidens the U.S. has to have a large number of them right? It's not like any of those questions take away from the show, just some extra shyt I want to know.

My girl put me on to this and I've been calling Ofwalt ever since. She doesn't really answer to it tho:heh:

Just watched episode 4.

I badly wanna just binge it, but I'm slow playing it because I'm out of TV right now lol

Really like this show. The way the eps always end on an "up" note, especially with the music choices is really smart and always pulls you out of the darkness and leaves you somewhat hopeful for what's coming next.

Well one episode released a week so you can't really binge it until a few more weeks from now

Yeah I know lol

I just meant that immediately after watching 4 I had the urge to just run through 5 and 6 immediately but I had to hold off.

Not at the moment but it's on my list. Especially since my homegirl is reading the book and its like her worst nightmare

:mjlol:

Breh... As a guy, even I'm :ohhh: at this show at times.

At first I wasn't gonna watch because I assumed it would be beating you over the head with the "Men, ammirite?!" vibe, but it's a lot better and smarter than that.

They're piecing out the backstory via flashbacks a little at a time so as someone who didn't read or even know anything about the books, I'm watching like "How the hell did they let it get this far?", but still...

I don't know how they let it get this far :russ:

Easy. People in power don't abide by the laws and place people in power that won't keep them in check. Laws won't matter if the people that are supposed to enforce them won't.

This show is excellent. I think, like everyone said the score really lends itself to the eeriness of the show. I really want to read the book but the library has like 50 holds!

I think the premise of the society seems really poignant now. I want to see the beginning of everything. I think the commanders wife is really conflicted. She seems like she was a "modern woman", and had some issues with society, but the extreme turn it's taken has become too much. Anyhoo, I'm excited to see how the rest of the world is and how everything has become how it is.

I like this show but man it's grim and give me vibes of what slavery would be like in 2017. :sadcam:
All them dudes with just standing around with guns. Nobody happy.

what happened to all the black men? :merchant:

Why version of Christianity is this? Like how can they quote the bible all day but basically "lay" with another woman instead of their wives? Seems like a huge point of hypocrisy.

I read a synopsis on the book and I believe it mentioned that most of those in power don't really believe in the beliefs they've pushed onto the majority. They're only really in it to get power for themselves. So, basically they're hypocrites like you pointed out.
