I know majority of folks who frequent this subforum are consistent with workouts, dropping LBs, gaining LBs, eating the right way, etc.

But we can all improve in some aspects. What are some goals and benchmarks you all want to hit in 2016?

Fitness, nutrition/diet related

Mine:
  • Get a workout partner - I feel like I could go harder if I had someone to workout with, spot me, push me and relate to on a consistent basis. My breh @chefmate7days throws me advice and tips all the time, but I'm in Atlanta and he's in DC
  • Eliminate my overindulgence in sweets - I kill Little Debbie cakes, Swedish Fish, and Lifesavers Gummies. I'm gone try my hardest to cut back and find alternatives in 2016
  • Get a new competitive outlet - My main competitive outlet when it comes to exercise is basketball. I'm only 25, but I want to find a new outlet that'll challenge me physically and maybe competitively. Boxing? BJJ? Yoga? Golf? It might also be a way to network

If you need a workout partner to make you go harder nh, what would you do if that nikka got hit by a car and died? You gotta go hard no matter what. You gotta want to improve your physique and push yourself. But you know that already

My fitness goals for 2016
  • Get to my leanest by my bday in May. I want to get under 10%. I'd say I'm like 12% right now. 5'8/165.
  • Join this affordable Judo club and get an introduction to a martial art. I plan to train BJJ in Brazil later in the year.
  • Bring my legs up. I suffer from "black man calves" :beli:. But I'mma go hard on them, I don't care if I can't walk some days.

I'm really not "bodybuilding" anymore since I like how I look at this weight. I enjoy being heavier (175-180), but I can't maintain it without eating like a pig. And it's time to see how ripped I can actually get. I'll add on a couple of pounds of muscle each year til 30 to fill out more but I'm mainly interested in becoming efficient in a martial art for the rest of my 20s.

So close to my goal for this year of 160. I weighed in at 157 the other day. For some background, I had back and knee injuries coming off of running track in college. So the first part of this year was largely spent rehabbing my lower body and fixing muscular imbalances. In February I was around 5'11 130, very skinny.

Next year I want to get up to about 175 lean.

I also want to get my vertical close to 30 inches. Right now I'm at 23" and I haven't been doing much plyo or drills. Just weight training.

Strength wise, I want to get:
  • 225 15 times on bench
  • >225 for Squats
  • 75's for DB incline (10R)
  • 70's for DB shoulder press (10R)
  • >150 for Lat Pd (10R)
  • >1 plate for weighted dips (10R)
  • 100 per hand for Db shrugs (10R)
:ehh: Hopefully I come back to this post in a year. Some pretty solid goals.

For 2016
I want to hit 175 by the end of March. I'm at 215 right now. I plan on being 160 by June. Then depending on how I look I'll either keep going to 155 or start bulking to 180 then cut to 165. If I'm consistent it should take me the whole year to complete the cycle. I'll also probably take breaks in between cause it's not like I'm competing for anything but that brings me to my next goal.

I want to do 3 months of what I call Monk Life. For 3 months straight I want to cook and eat every one of my meals and not eat anything that isn't part of my plan. Not miss a single workout no matter what. I know for single guys or people without kids that sounds easy but right now that's been my biggest issue. I do good for a week than I fall off for a day or two and then go back in. It's been working but I don't have the results I want because of this.

6'1, 240 and want to get the weight down to 200 by the end of 2016.

Using LoseIt! to track my food intake: ~2050 daily calories (I just want this fat off my body). Still hitting the gym hard 4-5 times a week working the weights first then HIIT on the treadmill.

Been going strong for nearly two weeks now. Haven't lost much weight so far but gotta keep grinding.

It shouldn't take you a full year to lose 40 pounds.

Not necessarily going harder, but lifting heavier, pushing thru. Sometimes other can pull something out of you, you didn't know you had. Can't forget the Placebo of having a regular spotter either

I have a whole plan in motion.

  • January through March- keep clean bulking. Made some good gains since I shut down the cut in October or so. Just wanna see how much more I can put on my lifts.
  • April through June- shred, but smarter. Last year I wasn't doing cardio and like 2 months in I basically stopped squatting. Gonna keep the cardio up and stay on my leg grind. If I have to cut back leg volume cool but I'm not gonna stop. Hoping to drop another 20.
  • Rest of the year gonna get back on my clean bulk shyt.
As far as resolutions.....
  • Less is more... already on that wave. Basically cut some volume so I could focus on form and just doing less, but better. So far it's working... I don't feel overwhelmed or stressed in the gym like I used to.
  • Vary my meats.... pretty much only had chicken this year. Gonna get in some more beef and pork and prepare my chicken in different ways.
  • Make dinner.... I have a big lunch and have a lot of shyt to do when I get home so I just have my kale smoothie and snack out the rest. Gonna try and actually cook dinner a few nights a week instead. That will keep me in check with the snacks
  • Budget my recovery.... I like lifting but I also like biking, basketball, volleyball and swimming. There is a lot I want to do... sometimes I do too much and fukk with my recovery. I want this year to be the year I get my physique lined up so I'm gonna fall back on anything that's not related to it. Then once I can just cruise with lifting I will bring some other shyt in the mix.
This year was good though. Tightened up my routine, got my cardio game up, lost weight and learned a lot about dieting and figured out how to get a steady stream of healthy veggies in my diet. Just wanna carry the momentum and keep building. 2016 looks good
