It honestly makes no sense considering Hollywood has started to heavily lean towards the Chinese market. They could have put any Chinese actor in the lead role here and it doesn't matter how well it did in America it would have been a huge success over in China and internationally.

But thing is a lot of people,if it was just straight up Chinese people in the cast,would shrug it off and won't watch it because it's a "chinese" film. Having a white lead suddenly makes it just a film.


That's the sad fukked up mentality a lot of people still have in 2016.

That's exactly why they still cast white people in shyt like this.

Even though a lot more people are woke now to this shyt and it just comes off as what it is,pandering to the white audience and cringe inducing

The movie isn't for Western audiences in the first place :rudy: this is the Chinese film industry showing Hollywood that they're now big enough to take their top actors and put them in their own movies.
