There is no debate.
Either there will be reparations... or there will be reparations protests.
Whenever a black person takes something from a white person against their will (their money, their life, sex, etc) I ask myself... was this white person's debt clean?
And in many cases, the answer is no. They still owed at the time of the incident.
At which point it goes from 'crime' to reparations protest.
You cannot hold fault with a person for extracting what that they are owed.
Until debts are paid, stories of cacs beng beaten, raped, killed, home invaded, or otherwise robbed or inconvienienced are completely untroubling to me.
They are merely being forced to pay their debts.

I think you should youtube Sir Hilarys lecture on reperations, hes they guy whos at the head of the movement.
People have some obscure reality of reparations, on some "everyone gets 3,000 pounds" or "we gonna get this land and live here"
Most of the money is to be spent on research, such as how diabetes medication is only 70% accurate on blacks from the americas buy 95% accurate on Europeans and the pharmaceutical companies wont invest in the medicine because Caribbeans dont make up enough of the worlds population for there to be any profit in it.

I use to agree with it back when Johnny Cochran was alive and decided to take up the case with a team of attorneys, but after thinking about it...I'm against the very idea.
That being said, I wouldn't turn down free money though
I do think that individuals who lived through Jim Crow should be able to make their case for some sort of financial restitution as a form of reparations.

And it will never happen because Black people were free labor to create surplus value thus capital. People with the latest in weaponry don't give back wealth willingly.
