It takes that kind of rule over a territory to be a contender year in and year out, which makes those schools, and LSU, special.

And thats just erroneous. Compared to their peers there is nothing special about lsu. They dont have some magical track record of sending guys to the nfl like he is indicating. If anything its signifigantly worse.

I know what you're saying though. The difference between LSU and those other schools that you mentioned is that LSU's tradition isn't as strong:

1980's: 70-41-5
1990's: 54-58-1
2000's: 99-31

if saban stayed in the pros we would have a dynasty at lsu and his play calling is
at times but because his trick plays work so often he gets a pass he has recievers and doesn't know how to use them

I think a lot depends on how much Mettenburger improves. He'll have a good receiver in Beckman, a couple of good backs, and always a good defense.

I'm with Ed on this one. For as many top tier guys they get, they're underwhelming as hell and those top guys rarely make a blip in the league as superstar guys. Outside of Peterson and maybe Landry & Claiborne, they're players don't really do shyt. It's like USC QBs on the defensive side
