Part 1 and 2 were 2 of the greatest if not the greatest movies ever made..
Thats the problem.. People keep comparing them.. 3 finished the story as far as Michael was concerned. What more could they have done?
Actually he was...it was much harder to do what De Niro did than Pacino inexplicably becoming everything his father wasn't.
Need to catch this.

As a stand alone, I guess it wouldn't have been that bad. But as the anchor to a trilogy, that shyt was trash.
The bar had been set high for 1 and 2, and 3 just didn't live up to expectations.
It's like Michael Jordan on the Wizards. He still averaged about 20 a game and was better than most NBA players, but people who grew up with Air Jordan thought he was trash

@Winnona Ryder in GF3 The only problem with GF3 was it was GF3 there was realistically nothing left after the first 2 movies. All the ill characters cept Michael were dead, Vincent Mancini was ill but he wasn't that ill. I have no problem with the movie but it shouldn't have been made and that's all I can say about it. This is the only movie I've ever seen that it was completely pointless of a finish to a trilogy.

The third installment was not up to par with the first two flicks. When people say it shouldn't have been made, they don't mean it in the sense of the story not needing furthering, but in the sense that it tarnishes the legacy that is the Godfather Series.
In a sense, it's an ode to Part 1 and 2. Those flicks set the bar so high, that 3 was deemed a disappointment by many.
All things considered, it just wasn't that good of a flick

at people not liking 3 cause they didn't expect Michael to die. That shyt just didn't deliver like expected

Did you see the end of GF2? That told me just about all I needed to know about Michael Corleone. He was gonna die alone and regretful I didn't need a 2 and a half hour plodding, thrown together last minute movie to show me how he was gonna end up. They had to finish the story that's some bull
