How is Atlanta “the GOAT Black city” when there’s Charlotte- a city with half the traffic, half the crime, and all the Black women and Black folk? :dahell: Y’all still tryna ride the coat tails of that ‘95-01 freaknik outkast era man let it goooo, Atlanta is not even the second or 3rd best city for Blacks anymore :mjlol:
Tbh it’s stale as f*ck. “Let’s be reality”. It’s poorly built, it’s a headache to drive through because it’s poorly built, and it has a “small town” aura about it, regardless of it being the 15 largest city in the US. Nowhere to eat past 9pm unless you go to ihop, Waffle House, or cookout. Cost of living is too high for what you get in return. And the city only builds and develops things that cater to rich yuppies and trust fund babies. A lot of fine Black women here but yeah, no, it ain’t no Atlanta :wow:
Although I’m only in Atlanta for school :mjpls:

the city has an extremely rich Black History. Ranging from the AUC, to Auburn Ave’s historic past, to even the neighborhoods that are getting gentrified.

I do not like how you came in here and slandered my state’s capital, unprovoked.

How if GSU is buying everything building and turning it into classrooms :troll:

I fukking hate being here bruh. Everything closes by 5PM. Woodruff Park is too nice to be misused

Places in Decatur, Lithonia, Clay Co & South Fulton stay open late if you don’t mind being around fukkery

I've been to Charlotte over a dozen times and I look forward to leaving everytime I'm there. I literally don't see the appeal to that city. Atl has higher cost of living but you have higher taxes.

You can hit up Hooters. :troll:

Nah but really.. Downtown BEEN a ghost town. Used to be a little more popping in the 90s but not by a lot.

Not necessarily "high end" (I.e. mandatory shirt and tie) but definitely spots I've spent $150+ in the past:

C&S Oyster Bar
Mojave
101 Steak
Marcel
Canoe

Knowing you, you prolly already been to those spots lol

lol actually we haven’t been to any of these but I’ve wanted to go to Marcel & Canoe (Trying to book Marcel on OpenTable is damn near impossible, it’s always booked :why: ). I’ve heard of 101 but the other 2 are new to me, appreciate it breh :salute:

Reason I’m asking is that I’m looking for a date night spot for January for me and my wife. Also be advised: for some of y’all brehs go ahead and start thinking about your Valentines Day spots now b/c a lot of the good ones is already gettin snatched up depending on your budget and what day y’all are planning to go out. Valentines Day is on a Tuesday this yr so we’re going the Saturday night before

Get the open table app and set an alert for Marcel. Once I did that I was getting alerts every day for this Friday and Saturday nights. I decided not to go there as my wife doesn’t like seafood and all their appetizers are seafood. I still want to try their beef Wellington though.

We gonna hit up Saints and Council instead. While not on the same level prestige wise, she will eat a bunch of things on the menu. We often find that to be the case, we like upper middle level restaurants like Southern Gentlemen more than spots like Aria because have more to choose from.

I made reservations for The Consulate the Friday before Valentine’s Day, has anyone been there before?

Appreciate that! Saints and Council was ok, service was meh, food was good but we only had brunch

Aria was good, solid Italian luxury dining

We love Southern Gentleman, that and Optimist are two personal favorites of ours

Never been to Consulate, I know it’s in Midtown but last time I tried to go I had a hard time trying to find it
