Apollo was still hot at the time 97-2000, and not nan artist from NL (with the exception on Mystikal as I mentioned in my previous post performed on Apollo) went to Rap City, or performed at Apollo.

The only time they were on the rap city was when they all were on there, early in their career when P had them on that bus, (I'm not sure who album was out) and when they were on the 504 boys campaign.

C-Murder never did a Rap City interview when Life or Death came out? (if so pull up the interviews)

Fiend never did a Rap City interview when "There's one in Every Family" (if so pull up the interviews)

Mystikal never did a Rap City interview when (Unpredictable) came out ( (if so pull up the interviews)

I can go on.

Mac, never did one when Shell Shocked came out and that album sold Gold I wanna say with only 1 video that really didn't get played (Boss Chick)

Mystikal was on Rap City. Mia X was on Rap City.

Mystikal was on Rap City. Mia X was on Rap City.

Was Mystikal on Rap City when his Unprectiable album came out? Mystikal was on Rap City when he was off NL?

You right, he was on Rap City promoting Ghetto Fabulous here in New Orleans

Was Mia X on Rap City when her Unlady like album drop?

I stated that she was on Rap City before, but it was after the fact she had dropped her 2 albums (Unlady Like, and Mama Drama)

How is it bad promo when you got artists like Ghetto Commission, Gambino Family, Prime Suspects, Mac, and Fiend all getting videos, commercials and one page ads in magazines? That's far more than a typical indy act got. On top of that, you heard these artists on almost every No Limit release. Good marketing goes hand in hand with good promo.

P did win an award. In fact, it was one of their highest honors and it was after No Limit fell off. The looks that Face got had nothing to do with being in cohoots.

By 2000, Master P wasn't relevant enough to be getting the covers he was getting. That May 2000 Source cover could've easily gone to Big Tymers. As much as I like that 504 Boyz album, that Big Tymers album was a bigger deal. In 2001, No Limit wasn't really making noise either aside from the Universal deal, which didn't really prove to be lucrative. In 2002, he's on a Source cover with Romeo and another cover with Mystikal and Luda, there were far bigger artists than P that year as well.

none of those acts had their own ad in the source.
by album #2, fiend & mac didn't even have their own commercials anymore.

the source award that master p won was like their version of an image award for all he was doing for the community.
meanwhile scarface won lyricist of the year that night, for no reason. and he performed with benzino that night too. then they gave "the gift" 5 mics less than a year later.

master p deserved that source cover. 504 boyz album was pretty popular, and wobble wobble was BIG.
big tymers could've got a cover too. scarface didn't need to be on the cover tho.

master p robbed universal.

the '02 cover was more about romeo, and being a father/son team.

yea, master p didn't need to be on that vibe cover, but who else was really there to put on at the time? the south was low-key slowing down during that period between the new Orleans run & the crunk run.

I agree with everything else, but mystical was on rap city in '98.

a wrap radio episode with big lez on the big boy morning show. I taped like half the interview, but missed the other half cuz I had to go to Sylvan for algebra. lol.

BUT the downside of it, is that it was months after rap city stopped playing "aint no limit". a video that they barely at all anyway. and that as the only video.

that album could've easily went double or triple platinum. shoot, the only reason he even got to do rap city & Apollo was because he had a name before he went to no limit. I wouldn't be surprise if it was Jive that hooked those appearances up. I didn't even know he did the Apollo until no. and yea, that song was not on east coast radio.

sounds like the interview where they were all there.

That was when "all" were together. When Joe Clair was interview mainly P, He may have asked her 2 or 3 questions.

The show wasn't even about "her" it was mainly on P and his movement.

Where was fiend? (I think he was on the tank then)

Where was Mr. Serv-On?

Where was (Mo B dikk)

I mean as I stated, these dudes got low promo, P didn't market these dudes like that. Most albums didn't even have but one video when the average album got at least 2 videos back then,

With the success of Unlady Like, Where was Mia X performance on Apollo? Hell where was Master P performance?

I don't think Mia X did any big TV shows (That show the Vibe, the host was that Spencer dude, P was on there, Magic Johnson, don't recall any solo NL act) No late night shows had them dudes on TV.

Yea, Rap City, had Mystikal and he was promo his Ghetto Fabalous album, but did he get a chance to promote that Unpredictable album

I think that rap city was for his Ghetto Fabulous album where Tigga came to the city (New Orleans) but yea he was Apollo, I remember it was a buzz around New Orleans that he was going to be on there.

His 1st time, He came out and did the last verse of Make'em say Ughh and then he went into "The Man Right Chea" and it was ONE dude in the front, bucking to that song...Everybody was standing just watching...
I can't remember the second song he did when he came back out, It wasn't the one with Silkk, it was the Unpredictable song that he did the second time he came out that night. I remember because the DJ (I think DJ Wop) kept scratching on the hook part.

I can't find that clip breh

Steve Harvey brought that nikka out and even said that Mystikal and Master P were best friends. Lol I remember that night because I thought he had bomb'd on stage because like I said only 1 dude was bucking in the audience that could have been a nikka that came with him LOL.

Yea, Rap City, had Mystikal and he was promo his Ghetto Fabalous album, but did he get a chance to promote that Unpredictable album

If I'm not mistaken, all of them were interviewed separately even though they were all there. There was no real need to go in depth because most of them were on their first albums and were being introduced.

That's not an example of low promo. To say Master P didn't market them is a huge oversight on your part. Every No Limit release had most of the roster plastered on the cover as featured artists sometimes right next to bigger names in the industry. They all had ads for albums that wouldn't drop for months. These artists were cross promoted.

No Limit did Late Night:

Yea, Mystikal got a chance to promote Unpredictable. As you stated, he was on Apollo performing "The Man Right Chea".

Every No Limit release had their own ad in The Source.

P won that award a while after No Limit began declining. How do you mention Face winning lyricist of the year for no reason? Face ain't a lyricist now? The album he dropped in 2000 didn't get 5 mics and none of his other albums did either until The Source re-rated The Diary and gave The Fix 5 mics in 2002.

I'm not saying P didn't deserve the cover, but No Limit wasn't exactly running the game at that point. There were bigger artists than P and the 504 Boyz at that point. I never said Face needed the cover. He got a cover later that year.

Regardless of the '02 cover promoting Romeo, it was still a:what:moment considering neither of them had any music that was making an impact at the time.

As far as the Vibe cover, there was again Juve (Project English was a bigger deal than Game Face), Trick Daddy, Big Tymers ("Still Fly" was easily bigger than any song P had out). The South was definitely not slowing down. There were Southern rappers from all over The South with big singles, and platinum and gold albums at the time.

Breh P had most of his artist plastered on the cover with an album coming and that was most/bulk of their promo. Like I said, most had 1 video and at times it wasn't seen on air or heard on the radio. What was Skull Duggery single? He was a C/B artist at the time NL was popping.
So Skull Duggery got mid-level promo? Mr. Serv-On got mid-level promo?
What ads are you talking about breh? ADs where? in the Source, The Vibe? BTW ads are low promo breh. You keep standing on these ADs things as if they appeared in every magazine issue that came out and that's not true

Lil Italy got a good promo?
Big Ed got a good promo, hell did Big Ed even had a video for The Assassin Album?

Mystikal went on Apollo and noone heard of dude, the crowd was dead. Why did any of the other big artist go on Apollo? Again Mia X had Foxy on one of her biggest singles and she's from NY that would have made sense right? So Mia X had a good promo? How many magazines covers did Mia X appear on? She's a A artist, Fiend also, Mac a B artist, hell he was about to sign to Def Jam as a solo act, How much promo did Shell Shocked get? and it still pushed Gold.

Man them dudes/artists were getting low promo for their albums and their albums were stilling reaching gold and plat, in 4-6 weeks.

I stated that Master P did late night...

1. What is the show that P and Bleed performing on?

2. Pull up some more other artist without P that did late night?

A 3:00 minute segment breh is good promo when you're an A list artist on one the biggest rap label in the world at that time??

When C-Murder Life or Death album came out (which at the time was the most anticipated album from the label) I didn't see dude on Rap City or any late night talk shows? if so please post them.

What single/video did he have on the radio that got good rotation? 2nd Chance was hot on the radio around the country on urban radio?

No Limit pushed "If It Don't Make $$$", but "Where You From" definitely got radio play. As far as Serv, dude got a video and they even tacked Big Pun on one of his singles.

No Limit had ads in every Hip Hop magazine. Every issue of the Source had at least one No Limit if not two ads.

Lil' Italy even got promo even though he just had the one album deal.

Ed had a video.

Miss me with no one hearing of Mystikal.

Outside of Snoop, Mystikal, P and Silkk, nobody else on No Limit was really a big deal. Mia X being A list is relative to the other artist on the label. She wasn't an even an A List female rap artist at the height of No Limit's popularity.

Shell Shocked did not go Gold.

That "If it Don't Make $$$" wasn't pushed breh, pushed where?? Oh the radio blew that song up around the country, Let me go and see where it peaked at on the charts.

Serv On didn't have Big Pun on Life Insurance, his video may have came on "My best friend" rap city 3-4 times.

What promo did Lil' Italy get?

What video did ED have for that Assassin album? (seriously I don't know)

Mystikal was hot up North?? is what you're saying and I just described how Apollo viewed dude when he 1st went up there and performed those songs

C Murder (Life or Death was the most anticipated albums coming from that label in 98) and he wasn't big?
Mia X (the only lady at the time on the Tank) wasn't bigger or just as big as Mystikal in 97??

My bad Shell SHocked peaked at #4 on the billboards and sold over 400k copies in the US. It wasn't an impact album

She wasn't an A List female rap artist at their height because she wasn't promoted like all the other Lil Kims and Foxy Brown, you are only saying what I"m saying, P did low ass promo for his artists. In 97-98, those were the only top female artist that were hotter and shoved down our throats were those two?

Who else were hotter than Mia X in 97-98?
