Honestly it's probably a good thing.
Arrowverse shows almost always fall off after three or four seasons, so it might be good that it ended on a high note.

I haven't watched this season but I saw this pic going around and people were talking about how it was a cool homage to the first appearance of Despero but I'm wondering why is Despero chilling the maintenance closet of a nursing home?

I wouldn't say it's fire, just better than the last couple of seasons.

Thawne has fukked up the timeline before but he's really gone too far this time
That said they really need to get Matt Letscher back to play Thanwe. Nothing against Cavanaugh, he's a great actor but I'm not sure why Thanwe would still be using Wells body at this point.
Maybe they still think he's the real Harrison Wells in this timeline?

He left the show as a "regular".
Basically just means we won't get new versions of Wells every season anymore, but he can still show up as a recurring villain. Just won't be in every episode.
