MCU turned Guardians Of The Galaxy into a billion dollar franchise. Captain Marvel is on pace to hit $1 billion. Antman did like $500-$600 million.

MCU's entire MO is taking B-Z tier characters and making them A-listers.

Doing it again for Alpha Flight (or any lesser known mutant/X-Men related characters) would be light work.

Then, obviously at some point in the future, they'd introduce the core X-Men and/or villains. I seriously doubt they're gonna jump out the window with X-Men directly after this Phase, though.

Fred.

I chose Alpha Flight to start the day whole international angle instead of clogging up more stories in America. Set up Excalibur out of UK etc.

Plus laying the groundwork for the new Wolverine.

:ohhh: This is pretty interesting. Can insert mutants into the current mcu without having to fast track the x-men, and the possible backlash if you don't get them absolutely right.

I can see feige doing this since they plan their films way out in advance, the only issue would be how they would fit/retcon Deadpool into all this.

That's if they're not introducing the mutants via the multiverse in Endgame.

I don't see them doing anything like that in "Endgame". That movie was done months before the merger even happened. People in the industry have already seen it.

Having said that, they didn't see the after credits scenes. Marvel could sneak something in there but like you said, they plan these things out way in advance. So I'm sure they already had after credits scenes planned long before the Fox deal was done.

And if those after credits scenes laid the ground work for the next Phase....you don't want to step on that by saying :krs: "hey guys, check out mutants!".

I see the current generation (pre-Fox deal) of the MCU concluding with "Endgame" and then a few months from now we get news on everything new they're adding.

Nah, I wasn't talking about directly referring to mutants in Endgame. Just them introducing the idea of other universes that possibly have "different heroes" . Therefore, they could do an established x-men in a different universe if they wanted to down the line without all the world building, and then have a secret wars/time runs out type super event if they wanted to crossover eventually with the main mcu characters.

If you notice, they have been trying to introduce the idea of mutants a little bit, using the infinity stones (scarlet witch) and the quantium realm/microverse (janet van dyne talks about her "evolving in the QR).

I don't think they were hinting at mutants....the reason they said Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were affected by the Mind Stone is because they couldn't even use the word "mutants" back then.

Keep in mind if these movies came out 4 years ago ("Age Of Ultron") they were probably written closer to 6 years ago. Even "Ant-Man And The Wasp" was announced in 2015. This would've been waaaaaaaaaaaay before the Fox deal was even thought of.

And yeah, I said the easiest way to introduce the X-Men would be via an alternate reality and/or time line.

He'd MURDER IT as Sinister.

Wouldn't mind keeping Fassbender as Mags either. :yeshrug:

I assume he wants to play Sinister because his back story is tragic as fukk. It's not your usual comic book type origin.

Hell, honestly if Marvel was bold they could do a "Logan" type movie based on Mr. Sinister's origin. Not even saying it has to be R-rated, but it could damn near be a straight drama. Then in the last 30 minutes or so get into straight comic book fukkery.

And it would be an unorthodox way to introduce mutants to the MCU.

Start it from scratch. Original X-Men with Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Jean, Iceman and X. Villain in the first movie won't be as important as setting the table. They can hint around Magneto but he don't need to be in it exactly.

Then you wanna setup the next wave of X-Men for the sequel, Rogue, Storm, Colossus etc.

I would like to see them get introduced as the “villains” in a Avengers vs X Men movie... then give them their own movie where the villain is Trask or some shyt. Make Magneto a subplot in all the movies but never the main villain.... after credit scenes can allude to Sinister or Apocalypse. Sinister is someone I’d save for a sequel but build up to him but they’d have to put emphasis on Scott and Jean well before they get to Sinister

Then later do a Secret Wars movie
