The Cyclops disrespect
I swear nobody caped for cyclops like this until the last 4 years or so, which coincides with some sort of new comicbook arc that made him cool for once. But for the past 40 years dude was a lame.
I honestly didn't know nikkas fukked with Cyclops like that until the internet.
Growing up, I didn't know anybody that was a fan of dude in real life. nikkas respected him, but most thought he was corny. He got a lil love in them Capcom games, but that was it.

It was a slow progression of character, cyclops is probably the most developed x man character followed by wolverine for a bit and Jean ironically enough.

After merging with apocalypse which happened around 2001 they starting slowly developing and growing cyclops. I dont know if it was planned or just so happened to be the evolution of the character. But he went from boy scout leader and soldier. Too more of an leader and general ready to make the hard choices and not taking back talk over them. Even down to Jean and Emma..
He's war torn even some what numb activist and tactician that is tired but keeps fighting for his people.
It's a really good 20 years of slow growth. The last 5 years really kind of defined what he stands for and his take on Charles dream.
He's done what some would see as questionable things in order to protect mutants. He's still a hero but his 1st concern was mutant safety.
So anyone that got into the xmen around the time of Grant Morrison run of new xmen probably has a different view of cyclops and Jean than others.
And if you weren't reading the co.ics then yeah I can why you'd think he sucks lol

Nah I gotta disagree man.
I remember fans talking about the movies fukked up Cyclops like, 10+ years ago. If not longer than that. From what I understand (and I haven't read comics in like, 20+ years so bear with me) he's supposed to be more along the lines of Captain America in the MCU. He's supposed to be the well respected team leader and in the movies he was basically a side kick getting disrespected by Wolverine.

Mimic or mastermind, actually mimic would be perfect....as they could have some really cool scenes with powers and kill him off while still team building.
I felt like the movies exaggerated his corniness and went over the top with the side kick shyt. Overall the movies did do Cyclops a disservice. I think we all can agree on that.
Its just in real life, I don't recall a lot of people making a big deal about it. Maybe on the internet tho. nikkas was just happy to finally get an Xmen movie.
I remember more people being pissed about Deadpool being fukked up in the first Wolverine movie. shyt ruined the movie for a lot of folks.
I haven't read an Xmen comic since the late 90's so I couldn't say either about how Cyclops evolved tho.
Yeah it was the internet. I don't know any comic heads in real life. Not now, anyway....we all read X-Men, etc. in the early 90's.
Deadpool kinda stuck out because by that point (2009) all the nerd shyt was mainstream. So you would hear "regular" folks complaining they messed up a comic character.
If Deadpool was in the first X-Men movie back in 2000 nobody would've gave a fukk.

It should be Gambit and the Morlocks followed by Trask and the sentinels. Magneto goes apeshyt bad in the second one after killing off the sentinels then comes to terms with Charles to fight Phoenix and the Shiar empire in the third one. The 4th should be the Age of the apocalypse and the death of Professor X by legion with the introduction of Nate Grey and Rogue Cyclops working for him.

I read the comics for years and always felt like cyclops was a lame boyscout . He was like a douche version of captain america. Cap was only likable because he was old fahsioned and from another time. Cyclops was from the modern day and had no excuse. I think the movies got him right actually. Plus she had a veryreaction to Captain Marvel so i feel like people caping for cyclops are just mad that he represents the quintessential corny white dude
He not supposed to have swag. or be likable, he was the teachers pet who got to lead the team.
I hear you but I don’t really want or need Cyclops to be shaggy.... I’d like it if they made him kinda militant and hardcore. No none sense, follows the rules but will fukk you up if need
