This deal doesn't mean anything if other theater chains won't agree to it. As long as Regal, Cinemark and all the others keep the 90 day window agreement, then Universal won't be allowed to take a movie to VOD in 17 days.

true but its pushing towards compliance or war because those other theaters might just give their movies less screen time after that window if they do that costing them more dough. Cause like PPV events whoever had the biggest screen ordered it and we split the cost and u buying your own food drinks etc.

movie theaters are staples in malls or shoppin areas so u might go to see a flick but before or after u might check out the sales at macys or just want to walk around and discover a new store. Social Society will die quicker with this deal

my guess is there's a bo profit percentage it has to break for them to release it on streaming.

I’m cheering cause honestly I haven’t really enjoyed the movie theater experience fully in avoid two years. It’s knowing in the back of my mind and possibly in the back of the seat there could be a damn rodent crawling around. Now that a number of theaters have adapted their seating to recliners it’s easier for rodents to hide. I couldn’t fully enjoy Endgame going to the show knowing that AMC had a marathon of it and knowing the staff wasn’t doing the best job between shows to clean up. (Or if they really ever do)

it’s not really that big of a deal to others but I don’t want a whole ass :hamster: chilling while I’m trying to figure out whodunnit
:what:

So glad I saw Avengers Endgame and Godzilla KotM at the IMAX before COVID shut that shyt down. Might use some of them Trump bucks at the end of August to grab some Home Theater speakers for Top Gun 2, though. Definitely mad I won't be able to see that one on the big screen.

Seeing Endgame, Get Out, Black Panther, & Us were awesome theater experiences. Definitely films to see on the big screen. I’ve enjoyed going drive ins—- but I live in Chicago so, yeah it’s a wrap after fall. :wow:

I just recently in the last few years started going back to theaters. If you're going to the theaters anytime after like 2pm you're going to have a shytty time because alot of people don't go to the theater to see movies, it's just "going out" to them. So they go and play and be loud in the theaters and fukk it up for the people that actually want to listen to damn movie. I would always go during the first morning showings on the weekends for most movies. like the 11am or noon showings. I hope the theaters bounce back. Some movies need to be seen on that big screen. :manny: Hell i had fun watching stupid ass Crawl at the theater. :pachaha:

MMMAAAAANNNNNN!!! That fukking movie pissed me off soooo much!! I would have rather seen that as a free bootleg on the fire stick!! And I went to see it as a mid afternoon date—- my boyfriend sleep SNORING like a whole ass bear & I’m pissed off about these lil hood boogers that’s at the show just to be doing something...

And then the plot of that movie—- :hhh:

Its a wrap for theaters

I remember waiting YEARS for certain movies to come out on VHS :wow:if you wanted to see something you HAD to go to the theater

yep. Even worse if it was a holiday movie. Home Alone came out right before Christmas. The vhs came out a year later right before Christmas. Studios weren’t releasing holidays movies in the summer :russ:

There's still gonna be a time and place for theaters, but they should've changed their ways a few years ago. It's nuts that a bottle of water and a small popcorn hits you for another $15 dollars outside of the ticket cost. I can't imagine how much a movie trip would hit the pockets of parents with a kid or two. They been needed to switch their whole shyt up now and do like the Alamo Drafthouse where it's actual good food and servers, there's a proper bar you can drink at and chill outside of the movies, and it's more like a dinner theatre combined with a lounge/bar than just straight movies and kicking people out. They basically got the year of covid to switch up their entire shyt to work for the new age or they're actually done.

Quiet Place and Get Out were the last two times I enjoyed the movie theater because it was all adults.
