Look, he wasn't on my want list. Far from it but they needed a big motherfukker and then I went and saw his work in LU and I'm good with this. The WWE restriction on talent cannot be underestimated, go watch matches of 90 percent of the roster in other promotions and they're all better. The E sucks at wrestling and it sucks off on the talent

Then again, I don't care, I'll accept anything. I want the company to prevail mainly because I want an alternative to a product which I absolutely hate.

For the last decade WWE has been more miss than hit in creating stars. 90% or more of the talent on their roster made their names elsewhere. The few homegrown guys they have are Kofi (I think), Roman, Bray and Braun. Jake is a very capable worker, is known whether you like him or not. Punk never intended to go to AEW, that’s very clear now.

Will never understand the idea that somehow someone doing something in MMA matters in wrestling unless it's a Ronda type situation where they built a big name in MMA & then switched to wrestling & even then if they suck at wrestling who gives a shyt? :manny:

Instant credibility.... Wrestling is supposed to be a suspension of disbelief watching two people "fight" so when you have a real, actual fighter in there, it helps the consumer "buy in" to the to suspension and emotionally invest

It's the same thing when a rapper actually has a legitimate street reputation or previous, record ..it helps the consumer believe the tough talk

The Bubbly Club has potential. They needed a hoss and his mma excursion is rebranding him like it did Lashley. Just needs some good booking to make it work(like Lashley got in TNA).

Would you think about signing with AEW if they considered texts an offer and when they finally set up a face to face meeting it’s at the Coffee Bean? I wouldn’t..

Do you think the Fox reps working with WWE met up with Punk at Better Buzzed Coffee? :mjlol:

Jake Hager may surprise a lot of people, when he wants to he has an intensity to him and can ramp it up, feel he was demotivated in WWE. He became another guy there, even the name didn't fit him, this is a case where the real name actually works, he isn't a character type necessarily but the MMA shyt can be played off and can say he's in career best shape. He just needs to be an ass kicker, as I mentioned similar to a Brock if he's gonna be a top guy, he doesn't need to be champion for a long time but he can be steadily built to be a commodity. It's not a name was pining for but it actually makes sense, they need that type, they need a balance, there''s a lot more they need, some more top black wrestlers would be good but I think that will be coming , Jake I think can have a credible and substantial role. He could get some good TV wins over the next months against some of the lesser guys and eventually the mid card guys and see how he does. Looks like he may be in the stable too so will probably be involved in tag matches too. Think it's a solid and sensible signing, not everybody can work the top straight away at the same time.

People here exaggerate the importance of coming from a "legit" background. Jack Swagger could be 20-0 in MMA and he'd still be a bland goofball with a lisp. Most fans only are concerned with whether someone is entertaining and what they do in the ring.

To add on, he desperately needs a Manager or someone who can speak on his behalf.

Lmao at his MMA excursion. He wasn't fighting people like Brock Lesnar did. He literally fought a fat guy who worked at a meat factory as his day job. The mental gymnastics used are hilarious.
