I think people took my words a bit too literally. Im not saying that all white women get tans with the expressed desire to "look black" (whatever looking black entails), just the same as all black women certainly dont use weaves to "look white". Generally, they all are trying to enhance their features through means that mimic, or are associated, with those outside of their racial category.

but the thing is that u havent really refuted anything. Here is the gist of the issues that BM have with the issue of weave:

1) We believe that Black women look better wearing their natural hair
2) when BW wear weave they are wearing the texture and sometimes color of (asians, whites and indians) that is a fact that cant be refuted
3) Other races dont go out and buy hair that looks like "black hair" and put it on their heads
4) There is some degree of self hate and shame in many (not all) BW who wear weave. They believe that they look ugly and or unnatractive without weave
5) Many chicks claim that weaves "protect your hair" well why not go out and get wigs or weave that look like "black hair" to protect your hair?

Im not bashing BW, Im not name callin or being disrespectful. im clearly stating facts

3) Not entirely true. @SouthernBelle posted a small sample of photos, but I've been all around the world and I've seen it WITH MY OWN EYES in both Europe and Asia (Japan particularly, has a whole population of men and women who buy afro weave and go out of their way to achieve a "black" look).
4)NO ONE DISPUTED THIS, WE'VE SAID IT FROM THE BEGINNING. Its you guys who are using the blanket statement that weave=self hate (no in between, no grey area)
5) A lot of us do! At the same time, a lot of us like to switch up our look.

Right now I have locs, when I take them down, I may want a short style. Why should I cut my hair completely when I can just rock a wig? That doesn't mean self hate. It reeeeeaaaaally isn't as deep as you guys are trying to make it seem.

i agree with the 1st part of your post. But the ass injection part is highly overblown. Waaay more black women have weaves compared to white women who have ass injections. Secondly a big ass is not exclusive to just black women. I see more black women gettin ass injections than white women. question, are there white women who have big asses that dont have ass injections? and if so are they then trying to be like black women

I already established that we have a European standard of beauty, so it stands to reason that most try to fit in with that standard --- and if black women are getting "ass injections", they certainly arent trying to fit the mold of the european standard (very thin), so Im not sure where you're even going with that.

Again, big asses, hips, thighs, were always associated with, and reviled, as an African set of features (if you look at the old mammy images, the women always had large asses)....so yes, big asses have historically been closely associated with black women, and black women predominantly

We've been talking about black women for hours, I'm just pointing out how easy it is for you all to dismiss any claim of someone white doing things out of self-hatred but will argue to your grave that what a black person does is nothing but self-hatred.

That is true (when did I say it wasn't). Another fact that can't be disputed is that black women also buy kinky textures that some of yall think is real (based on some of the pictures yall post of women with "natural" hair). Many of yall said that black women don't buy weaves that match their hair and that is a lie. Women buy a variety of textures.

I never said they did. Someone asked me to post a picture of white women emulating black women hair and I did. Then yall got mad and said why yall bringing up white women when we weren't the first to mention what they do and don't do.

No one woman in this thread has disagreed with that point. I'm pretty sure many said, including myself, that some women do because they hate their hair. I even mentioned women who wouldn't be caught dead without weave.

Again, many do. "kinky curly" "bohyme brazilain" and etc. hair are very popular. You can google everything I'm saying. Go to a black hair message board and search kinky weave or kinky curly hair. Women are always searching for realistic looking afro hair. Again, I've seen yall post pictures of "natural" women, but they were simply wearing natural looking weave. Yall just don't know the difference most of the time.
