The fact remains, women have no good reason to wear weaves.

I agree, see how simple that is. I'm not in denial about shyt. Black people have a crab in the bucket mentality.

How about them weaves though? :patrice:

I don't agree with weaves , black women are addressing that issue though , again the large natural hair movement ....

What are black men going to do about driving cars designed by white men, wearing clothes designed by White men, wearing watches designed in white men, aspiring to live in neighborhoods/nations control by white men, following the European standard of beauty ...basically when are you guys going to start a nation building movement ?

Just curious - do you think he was trying to "look white?" I just think he was trying to be different...

So you want to bring up looking like the women on the media?

No I don't. I just think there are much more constructive ways to inspire our women to be beautiful in their own skin, other than all the "self hating" "hair hat" talk.

Skinny white chicks is whats on the media. If they are trying to look like whats on the media then you have proved my point.
It's not about the race. Most white women are not naturally skinny, with long flowing straight hair. They jump through just as many hoops as black women to try to reach that standard.

Where are the white women who are trying to look like black chicks? Def not on tv thats for sure in fact they are low in number.
Once again, you created the notion that black women are trying to look white. Plenty of white women get weaves/chemicals to make their hair more curly and they to to the tanning salon. Do you think they hate themselves cause they are trying to look black?

White women wearing dreds, white women wearing afros. Where are they? :lupe:

Google is your friend.

This fad of blond hair, indian hair and skin bleaching and such.

The natural hair style of black women is already under oppression. Weave wearers are making it worse.

All of this is popular and are warning signs to wanting to be another race. They cant just be ignored. :manny:

Well yeah those things are definitely warning signs and not at all what I was defending. I hate seeing any woman with the blonde weaves, contacts, too light makeup. Luckily, I don't see it often.

You same chicks women would be crying foul if white women decided they wanted to walk around with afros. Remember all the black women who said miley cyrus was trying to be black by twerking? :mjpls:
it would be hilarious if white women started putting afro textured weave in their hair. black women wouldnt know what to do

I do think he also has a warning flag of wanting to be another race. I never said males were exempt.

Where are the white guys who get fades, corn rows and waves? Barely around.

Black men havent had relaxed hair and jerry curls in ages.
Once agian. The majority of styles that black women get with relaxers/weaves are not something that white women could replicate with their natural hair.

You mean since the mid to late 80s? Not really ages. And keep in mind Black women actually did things like keep Black men feeling safe and desirable enough to transition away from those types of styles. What support have Black women gotten from Black men besides being called hair hated hooligans and beasties? And even with all that, no BW-bashing Black men on this site has addressed why they don't have a problem at all with Black men altering their hair to appear less Black.

Shaving the naps off your head so you don't have to deal with them is not 'natural' nor does it show you have any pride in your African features.

And the modern day conk (see: waves) are not a natural hair style for Black men either. If they were Black men at large wouldn't need to pile grease on their heads, brush constantly, and wear female rags over their scalp to support it. Pour water on a Black man with wave's hair and see if he doesn't try to swing on you.
