These people acknowledge how white supremacy has had a devastating impact on the black community, causing us to take up dysfunctional habits and practices. But instead of saying, if we can change the conditions then we can possibly re-orient our dysfunctional habits and practices, they're saying yeah we can change the conditions but anything that deals with dealing with ourselves, having any agency, is akin to "bootstrap/respectability" talk and they not going for it, thus doubling down in the dysfunction.
The greatest psy-op right now is how the black mainstream has linked agency with "bootstrapping" (a bad word in our current society) so that black people can absolve ourselves from any accountability or responsibility because we're "victims".
