After watching and reading multiple theories:

"Him only wearing his ring in the dreams

The old man (Alford) only appearing in reality

The Totem Not Being His, etc"

And I Still Dont Know :damn:

shyt thats tripping me out tho is how long can a totem spin before it eventually has to drop. That shyt cant spin forever :why:

What yall think?

I swear I read an interview with either the director or producer who said it was real life.. Before it fades to black notice it wobbles to a point to where it's about to fall over, it's real life

Yea, I Know Nolan never said either way. He always leaves it open for debate and says it ambiguous.

I havent seen a min. If it falls over that means its real life?

Because eventually it HAS to fall over

the idea is that in a dream it would never fall over because of the laws he established.

the whole idea of it having to fall is only something we'd deal with in the real world.

i've gone with the ring theory..

My first take was that we never actually saw the real world throughout...The movie jumps from scene to scene from the very beginning (the same way he describes dreams do) and the convenient timing of characters' arrivals in the real world is just too perfect (especially the asian cat). Basically, everyone we see throughout the whole movie is just Leo's projections acting out his latest fantasy...I rewatched it and didn't think everything fit, but it was a fun theory and fit with Nolan's habit of telling you everything you need to know at the very beginning of his plots (black swan, prestige)

TYRONE GA!
Alfred (Michael Caine) snitched in an interview that the ending scene was real, but Nolan deliberately left it like that on purpose and will never answer it himself. Caine's reasoning is that it's real because he is NEVER in the dream world with Dicaprio, only the real world.

Hell on Earth
one of the most overrated movies of all time.

I wouldnt call it over rated....I thought it was pretty good, but then again, it isn't something I feel like going back to watch. I saw it twice, once in theaters and once on blu ray and now its just collecting dust

IMO, it couldn't had been a dream without that crazy bytch showing up. fukk all that totem shyt, you think he'd let her see him in his head with they kids and she'd not try to crush the buildings?
