I make more money now than ever. But always waiting on the other shoe to drop. Not sure if it's paranoia or just a scarcity mindset. But it has served me well not to get complacent.
I'm not suggesting complacency, to be clear.
But consuming fear/catastophe porn like the OP is unhealthy for your mind. It's the equivalent of eating a pillowcase-sized bag of Skittles.
Tomorrow, the Yellowstone volcano could erupt, spewing toxic gas and molted lava everywhere, killing millions of people.
At the same time, a pimple-faced intern could get butterfingers and spill the vial containing a rapidly spreading super-virus with no cure.
Additionally, a computer error could expose that the entire stock market is a giant Ponzi scheme, and hundreds of billions of dollars de-materialize overnight.
A team of 3 Percenters could repel into my home's windows and kidnap my family. My daughter could run out into the street and get hit by a garbage truck. A gas leak could blow my house up. Etc., etc., etc., etc.
At a certain point, you just have to do the best you can and hope for the best.
Therapy also helps.
