It kills champion momentum/fan interest.

As a black man and a genuine admirer of their talents, Lashley and Bel Air being champs makes me tune in just for their segments/matches. I can't get with this though LOL.

They barely have enough talent on the roster thats being used as is. So they don't have much to work with especially with the brand split. I mostly watch SD like I'm doing now but I imagine its the same with Raw. On SD they got Roman, Apollo, Big E, Sami, KO, Cesaro, Seth, Corbin, and Shinsuke. Those are the main single stars. The rest are all mostly involved in a tag team, except for Dawkins with Montez out and the Usos often get singles action due to being involved with Roman and his storylines. But other than that they recycling the same 10 people for the past few months. Most of those even were the ones who fought in the MITB qualifiers cuz they had nobody else to throw in there. The roster looks big overall but its split among 3 shows, not like AEW or Impact who only have to do 1 show each. And with them releasing talent with what seems like every other month, I won't be surprised if things get worse and some of these feuds last until Survivor Series or the October ppv since SS is brand vs brand.

Undertaker and Mankind would like a word...

Thats literally the only example you could think of :umad:

And did they wrestle back to back PPVs?

That was a feud that actually made sense to keep running back. And for every one of these there’s at least 100 other matches I could name that only happened once in a calendar year. And if they did it was at least several months apart.

Thats a big reason matches were more special back then. There was a declared winner then u won’t see that match again for years.

That’s the only thing 2K universe mode gets right. Rematches on rematches, rivalries repeated every month

Any of the big/semi-big feuds we remember did not culminate in just one match that we didn't see revisited for years... every single one of those feuds consisted of rematches whether on PPV or TV, or both. Any one you name, they ran more than one match at a time. Especially if we're talkin' about the Attitude Era and on down with monthly PPVs and two TV shows every week.

Bret vs Flair happened only once in WWE
Perfect vs Bret was twice, 2 years apart
Hogan vs Savage was once, twice if you include the tag team match (RIP Deebo)
Savage vs Steamboat was once
Bret vs HBK was 3 times over a 5 year period
Bret vs Bulldog was maybe twice over a 2 or 3 yr period
Hogan vs Warrior was once

And these are some of the highest rated matches in history

We did occasionally see the same match twice in the same year if it was something fans really wanted like Warrior vs Rude or Hogan vs Andre but even then it was rare and spread out months apart

Bobby vs Drew happened more times in a 2 month period than HBK vs Bret happened over 5 years and prolly more than Taker vs Mankind did over 2

They were not spamming rematches like they do nowadays, it was not even close. Just about every feud consists of 5 matches between them over a 3 month period, when did this ever happen in the 80s or 90s? :gucci:

Rollins/Cesaro doesn’t need to happen 10 times; same with Nattie/Tamina vs Nia/Shayna.

The last decent feud that really needed multiple matches was Cena/AJ. You do multiple matches for feuds that have more to offer when it comes to storytelling.

Bret/Flair wasn't even a feud... they both had ongoing feuds with others (Bret with Shawn Michaels, Flair with Savage), then one week, show comes on and Bret was WWF champion... they never actually had a program going.

Hogan/Warrior is a good example... but still, this is a rare example. Hogan/Savage definitely faced each other more than once. By contrast, Hogan/Andre in that same era faced eachother at Mania III, on opposing teams at Survivor Series, one-n-one on Main Event, one on one again at Mania IV (a month later), and in a tag match at SummerSlam '88...

Also, in the 80s/early-90s they also did TV and PPV differently than how they've done it since the mid-90s... it's easier to space out matches when there's 4 PPVs a year and the star wrestlers weren't facing each other every week on TV.

But if you start talking about '96 and on? Undertaker/Mankind faced eachother 4 times in '96 alone (on PPV and TV), Bret/Austin got ran back on TV and PPV, Rock and Mankind, Rock and HHH, Jericho and Benoit, any combination of Hardys/Dudleys/Edge & Christian faced off ALL the time, Austin/Taker, Austin/Mankind, Taker & Kane, all these shyts happened repeatedly... Drew & Lashley went one-on-one on two PPVs and once in a triple threat... y'all actin' like they done wrestled 8 times in the last 6 months :mjlol:

Brand splits should be for live touring purposes only
And should be not made public
Tv while roster should be available and the belts need to be unified
1 world, 1 women’s , 1 tag

You really named some of the most memorable feuds and even then it was spread out over a year or 2

It ain’t just bout Bobby and Drew, it’s damn near every single feud being ran back week after week/ppv after ppv :gucci:

They just had Cedrick and Shelton face each other more times in a 2 week period than any of those did in a 6 month period

There was not ever a 50/50 booking period with any feud in the 90s or the 80s I can remember :unimpressed:

Your memory's just bad, breh... They definitely ran the hell outta the feuds I mentioned on Raw, Smackdown, and PPVs. Wasn't just no bunch of one-and-done going on especially with feuds that lasted for more than a month. Go check out Peacock, they got all or at least most of the episodes and all the PPVs.
