Just isnt a sport we grew up playing and respecting by and large. Having been in Black areas my whole life I can count on one hand the number of black people I knew who actively played soccer, I mean you would've got clowned in school if you were on the soccer field. But that was just our perception. I dont get into club play but I watch the world cup everytime it goes around, I'll play fifa every now and then, as a sport its just not as captivating as what we grew up playing.

Bolded is a bad analogy. 1. Soccer is not exclusive to poor nations at all. In fact, you find it being played all over the globe. You already knew that though so I don't understand why you limited it's popularity to poor nations. It's popular everywhere except here and maybe a couple other places. 2) This is just a bad statement. A foreigner could watch a Browns - Jaguars game and say football is slow. That statement would be utter trash though because we know it isn't. Soccer at the highest levels is a fast paced, non stop, end to end game. Slow would never be used to describe soccer. Only ppl who go into it with preconceived notions about its slowness would agree there 3.) Soccer in almost every country below Texas and across the oceans is played on the streets, in gyms, beaches, fields. It's more than a past time. You can play with 5,6,7,8, etc per team, small side, full side. It easy to pick up a ball and make makeshift goals. Baseball is so hard to play without organization. It's not a poor man's game anymore.

:usure:

Why you twisting my words?

1.) I never said soccer was exclusive to poor nations- just very popular in poor countries. What are the two most played sports in the developing nations in Central and South America?

2.) :comeon:Breh, Soccer is naturally slow. Pre concieved notions?:pachaha: I've heard many people call it a beautiful game (fair) but it is far from an action pact event. Even a Jags-Browns game will have an amazing tackle or a something and WONT END in an 0-0 tie:skip:

3.) :snoop: do you understand what a national past time means. Some European countries have been playing associated soccer for 150 years. Same with us and baseball.

1) That's a straw man argument is the point I was trying to make. It's popular everywhere. The fact that developing counties in Latin America love it have nothing to do with them being developing countries. Most of the world's best economies also play soccer exclusively. Oh and boxing is Mexico and most of central America's second favorite sport. Baseball is big in many of then as well. I guess that's why you are comparing them? It just seems a strange comparison.
2.) This is a pretty ignorant point as well. Even if games end 0-0, exciting things happen. Not sure why you feel like if no one scores, then nothing if note occurred. Great passing, dribbles, tactical battles, near chances, etc. A game of top football is very exciting 99.9% of the time. Just say you don't really fukk with soccer, but don't spout nonsense as fact. Matter fact, 0-0 games ain't even that common
3.) I know what a pastime is but I mentioned all that to say why they aren't comparable. For one thing, most FAs and governing bodies in the large European countries been around for a hell of a lot longer than baseball. Also, baseball may be Americas past time, but it's not the most watched or most played thing here by a longshot. In most of the world, soccer is that. Hence why I believe it's a bad comparison.

We can go on like this all day but that's my 2 cents and why I don't think your comparison of any note.

Most of the developed nations play soccer exclusively?:mjlol:

Once again, I NEVER said soccer wasnt enjoyed in developed nations. What I said is that developed nations normally have other options. For example, Soccer is very popular in Japan, but not before Baseball or Sumo. Think of any other G-20 nation outside of the EU and its usually the same story- Soccer is top 2 or 3, but not the #1 and certainly not exclusive.

Just admit your a Soccer stan, because everyone knows the most casual fan to any sport likes high scoring and fast pace action. I am a Steeler fan and I love low scoring grudge matches, but I would be a fool to sit here and think that a causal fan wants to watch a 7-3 game.

I played a year of Varsity back in the day and even attended a Chelsea match when I was in London- I understand soccer and why people love it. But I can DEFINITELY understand the argument against :yeshrug:
