Yea that's how it was with me

At my elementary school we had a track, bball court, and a separate soccer field. We used to do all that. Sometimes we played bball sometimes we played soccer

And then like u said around 6th grade we focused on bball and football

Same here.

But you also have to consider interest level. I mean, I enjoyed playing soccer- but it was no where near as fun to play compared to bball, football, hell even hockey. I think that is the general sentiment of a lot of kids in America.

reminded me of a sub-plot in an nollywood movie.... breh was thirsty for this co-ed that wouldn't give him any play...he leaves school, goes to Europe and bags a million dollar soccer team contract...returns to nigeria and bags the chick's friend that was imploring her to talk to him when he was broke.

But thats the thing.

I played baseball as a kid . I had the opportunity to go to MLB games and watch the best play from all over the world. But playing the game was no where near as fun as bball, football, and yes even Hockey. So that argument of being able to watch the best compete, does not answer everything. its a combination of both exposure to talent AND culture.

I liken Soccer to Baseball: 1.) both sports are very popular in poor nations 2.) both sports are extremely slow and naturally boring to the untrained eye. 3.) both are considered 'past times' in their respective nations.

Sissy ass sport for fakkit cacs. You want a man's game, then get on the gridiron. Or b-ball court. Just like Soul Glo dude said, I don't respect a sport where you can't use your hands.

Baseball's aigh. Boxing and MMA are :noah: But this sport is :wrist:

Bolded is a bad analogy imo. 1. Soccer is not exclusive to poor nations at all. In fact, you find it being played all over the globe. You already knew that though so I don't understand why you limited it's popularity to poor nations. It's popular everywhere except here and maybe a couple other places. 2) This is just a bad statement. A foreigner could watch a Browns - Jaguars game and say football is slow. That statement would be utter trash though because we know it isn't. Soccer at the highest levels is a fast paced, non stop, end to end game. Slow would never be used to describe soccer. Only ppl who go into it with preconceived notions about its slowness would agree there 3.) Soccer in almost every country below Texas and across the oceans is played on the streets, in gyms, beaches, fields. It's more than a past time. You can play with 5,6,7,8, etc per team, small side, full side. It easy to pick up a ball and make makeshift goals. Baseball is so hard to play without organization. It's not a poor man's game anymore.

It's funny, in every other country it's a sport for the working class.

You look at the upcoming youth teams for some of these European countries and they're filled with blacks and arabs.

England (old picture but you get the point)

With England and France they have a lot blacks even in their senior teams.

thats why France and Brazil are my go to teams after the African squads during world cup.

i live by a simple rule. root for the team with the most brothas.

Don't get me wrong, I'll fukk with the African teams in the World Cup. I hope Ghana gives the cacs that work again this year, just like they do in every World Cup. But once all the black teams are eliminated, I lose all interest.

I do try to follow TP Mazembe, the most successful black club in history.
