Just finished. It was cool 8/10, but no it is not as compelling as the Wire. The Wire was really about a social ill that needs attention, this doesn't really have that urgency. They seem to be trying to give hoes, porn the sex trade dignity which is cool. I really don't like them using James Franco for two roles, he's really not that good at it and I'm sure a better actor could do one of them better. The female leads while adequate could have been better as well. The pimps are doing a good job tho, Gbenga Akinnagbe and Gary Carr specifically. I will definitely watch next season.

If you hold 99.8% of shows to the standard of the Wire you're gonna end up disappointed a lot, especially their first seasons.
