theres an episode of svu where a detective from another squad says something about how a detective is only supposed to be assigned to svu for a few years at most.
the kinds of crimes they see are always so over the top. it was already said up top, but stabler was for sure a psychopath.
as far as benson is concerned, i mean goddamn. all the times she's been kidnapped and held hostage. the times where she went undercover in the prison. if that shyt was anywhere close to reality you would just cash out and make some movies about your life or something.
no shot she should be in charge of that squad though.
the only person who ever got any type of realistic treatment on the show is that dude Amaru. they had him back in uniform on some beat cop shyt at some point.
