We've known for a while now that Stephen Amell would have the iconic (?) goatee when he reprises the role of Oliver Queen in a future version of Star City in
Legends of Tomorrow, but
Entertainment Weekly has made if official with the first details of what his appearance will comprise of. Appearing in episode six, this instalment takes place in 2046, and the Green Arrow is going to be joined by his son Connor Hawke, a character we met for the first time in last year's crossover with
The Flash.
It sounds like he'll be the new Green Arrow too, as this version of Oliver is going to have something in common with the one who showed up in
The Dark Knight Returns.
"Every once and a while, we do an episode where the 10-year-old me has to pinch himself," executive producer Marc Guggenheim explains.
"We’re not only introducing our version of Connor Hawke to our universe, we’re going to meet the 2046 version of Oliver Queen, and Stephen Amell is going to be reprising his role from Arrow. As an added bonus to comic-book fans, Oliver is missing his left arm and will be sporting a goatee, in a nod to the character’s appearance in the seminal Dark Knight Returns. We think this episode features some of the coolest things we’ve ever done."
This sounds pretty damn awesome, and it will be interesting to see just how much the Green Arrow we know has changed thirty years from now. It's fair to say that most of us didn't expect to see a version of Oliver this old or battle damaged, but the inclusion of Connor will be very interesting.
