What you mean nah a 1000 dollar console is still cheaper than a top tier gaming pc. A lot of nikkaz paid 1000 dollars for a ps5 when they couldn’t find it on the shelf so let’s not act like it’s not far fetched.

a 1000 console 'still being cheaper than a top tier gaming pc' doesn't matter. A top tier gaming pc is... ya know. A computer. That does stuff other than play games. A machine like that is usable for other things and provides a more clear lane into streaming content. That's the parlay now - people understanding that getting a machine + capture card to stream their games on twitch/youtube/kick is about as expensive as that PC.

But... that also blows up the concept of the console market. You make a system a band and the folk that only play COD/Madden/2K/<insertBatleRoyale> are going to either reconsider their hobbies or worse: start demanding equivalent quality for the money.

PC gaming has a bunch of marketplaces to obtain games, with a whole piracy black market and resellers all over the place. You get a PC you can find what you are looking for, if you look enough. Consoles, you're locked on one marketplace.

They ain't doin consoles that expensive without making them modular for ease of upgrade. That, or once they hit the visual deadpoint where the human eye stops being able to perceive the variations. We're close. But once we get there... all that's left is PC

No they didn’t because they had weak console sales with the Wii u so they had to make the switch affordable. Look what happened with the PS3 they were trying to push a 600 dollar console at that time and they were arrogant jacking the price up. They learned from Microsoft being the cheaper alternative but take that out of the equation now that they are going third party.

I don’t put anything pass Sony when there’s no competition to them that they won’t try some fukkery. They been trying to get their exclusives to a 100 dollars now look at the tiers they have for online. Arrogant Sony is going to come back in some form if Xbox goes third party.
