The gunslinger was just the beginning of the Dark Tower series literally and figuratively they got much better as the other key characters were introduced

Man i damn near cried when certain characters were killed in some of his books. That's character development.

So is this movie being trashed because the main character supposed to be white? I mean book adapted movies always butcher the details and i never read the book but im still going to peep it today. Its a rainy ass monday nothing better to do

Looks like I'm not the only poster who read all the books and was still able to enjoy the movie despite the differences. I enjoyed the flick and liked all the performances with the exception of some of walter's henchmen.

The movie was like an extremely brief summary of the series. What mattered is it kept the general idea. Unfortunately didn't see anything about the horn and no brief flashbacks of his posse. But glad they featured the gunslingers mantra.

I suspect that's the reason and they just make up some excuse so that they won't seem racist.

I enjoyed the movie; but as a person who has not read the books, I figured the source material was a YA novel...

The book series was more adult in nature they kind of pg13'd this shyt but I don't mind cause it doesn't have the other two gunslinger apprentices from keystone earth who made the series really raunchy.

He's not. Crimson King is a separate being

Crimson King is also descended from Arthur Eld meaning the gunslinger is a distant relative

Crimson King's daughter is It. That clown monster pennywise

Also known as Satan

I said it earlier in this thread, but Stephen King's writing is all over the place. I really don't understand how people find him to be such a great author. His ideas for stories are dope, but his execution is pretty terrible. I didn't read The Shining, but I bet Kubrick fixed all the problems with King's writing since the movie is a classic.

Take this rep, my first Stephen King book that I read was the "Gunslinger" and I literally hit the "why do people like this muhfukka again?:what:"
Dude must've become famous off of his weird book ideas, 'cause this writing is horrible. Terrible character development. Dialogue is pretty gahbage at times, it's like the characters have split personalities.:scust:

Thats why I didnt want to jump the gun and wanted to ask b/c its no way you can read multiple SK books and say what he said. The Dark Tower is his magnum opus and connects all of his books in one story. SK books might have you confused at first but the way he ties all of that shyt up is straight genius. Even his short stories are fukkin nuts. Tell me this shyt don't creep you the fukk out.

How does Christine tie in to DT? :ohhh:

How does Christine tie in to DT? :ohhh:
The owner of Christine has the name, Roland D. LeBay. The "D" stands for Deschain... the Gunslinger's name.
In "IT" Henry Bowers is picked up in a 1958 Plymouth Fury ( obviously Christine ), driven by the dead Butch Huggins. This alludes to Christine being controlled by Pennywise, who is related to the Crimson King as the eater of worlds and they both have the spider-like form.
Christine's headlights also emits the same energy that Pennywise controls called The Deadlights. Which can envoke human suffering and death. Same energy suspected of being used in Trucks (short story)/Maximum Overdrive movie.

Another reason why we need a series or something. Can't have DT without the Crimson Kang...or Mordred for that matter.
